    Isn't Blanco signed through next year? Or is this his last year? he only signed a 1 year deal 2 year deal signed before '07. I brought much rage for not handing the job to Geo. Probably worked out for the best. I think the 2nd year is a mutual option.

    Maybe the Padres go 0-162 with Adrian Gonzalez. We'll never know because he never helped his MVP cause by getting injured and therefore letting voters see what a difference maker he is. I guess my point is this: You're basically saying Soriano should win MVP because we can compare/contrast the results with and without him. Not every MVP candidate gets this "benefit". Should those MVP candidates be punished for that?

    Yes, Vin Scully is a legend, but sadly, I think his time has run the course.

    All the numbers say that the Cubs have a bigger fanbase, and generate more revenue. However, in my experience, there are a lot more Sox fans around me than Cubs fans. Most of my coworkers are Sox fans, and I work in the northwest suburbs.

    Vaulting has a different tiebreaker than uneven bars. Each gymnast gets two vaults, so ties are broken by the highest scoring vault.

    I'd guess it was similar to the Greek baseball team in '04, grandparent born Germany. They talked about this during the opening ceremonies, countries are basicly paying athletes to play for them. There really are no rules against this, even if you competed for another country in the past. yeah, i was talking to my mom about this last night when they should the guy running for the us in the 1500m who ran for kenya in the last two olympics. he sucked, so it didn't really matter, but i can't believe this isn't seen as a bigger deal. He didn't suck. He was one of the gold medal favorites, but he didn't make it out of the semis.

    Did he predict hed have a job at the end of the season? The Astros are not out of it yet. I have to say that they exceeded expectations by playing over a .500 record so far.

    Nothing wrong with trying to shoot for the best, but the rest is also gonna be needed, especially after a long season. Of course, we don't want them to be "too" rested where they could be rusty. The Cubs are deep enough that they can rest one or two starters per game and still field a very competitive team.

    I would love for the last three games against the Brewers to be meaningless for the Cubs but absolutely crucial for the Brewers and the Cubs went and swept them anyways.

They've been in existence for 16 years and have already matched us for all-time World Series victories. Well, the Cubs won two of the first five World Series and we all know what happened after. Yeah, William Taft got elected president.
