I hate attitudes like that. I think the truth is Holt doesn't want to play in the cold, and he doesn't want to play on grass. Both will tend to slow him down and make him look older. I'll bet he's willing to take a significantly less attractive situation to play inside, on turf. We'll see if it falls that way. Does anybody have splits with Holt in indoor/warm weather vs. cold weather?
That's because no one cares. I would bet more people were tuned into ESPN2 or ESPNews watching Mark Schlereth wax moronic about the Cutler trade than gave a thought to the NIT final. And I can say with all honesty that even if the Illini were in the same position, I would hardly care then, either. I just remember West Virginia winning it two years ago and their shirts were misprinted saying "West Virgina". http://blog.spreadshirt.net/uk/files/2007/05/west_virgina.jpg
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME!!! There goes any enjoyment I'll have next season. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
But we did get 1 unproductive season out of Juan Pierre in the deal. I hope this doesnt go down in history as another Brock for Bolio type of deal. I didn't think Pierre was that bad in 2006. I mean, he wasn't great by any means, but he led the NL in hits (and outs made), and he did steal a fair number of bases.
The whole concept of a closer seems silly to me. You want your best pitcher to go in during high leverage situations. The need to save that pitcher because that isn't his role is sometimes stupid.
Technically, the Bulls won. But they beat a Wizards team without Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, Darius Songaila, Etan Thomas, and DeShawn Stevenson by 2 points.
