  1. Too tiring? Also, it's risky in terms of fouls.
  2. Yes, it's called pod seeding. In this case, it actually works to Duke's detriment since a lot of UNC fans will cheer against them. It happened when Duke and UNC were both 1 seeds in 2005. some of the fans like UNC? who cares, the advantage is in not travelling across the country. UNC and Duke can be placed in the same location, so UNC fans that stay for the later games will cheer against Duke. And yes, an advantage is not traveling across the country, which Duke has earned with their season. its just that there is always games in NC. there isnt always games in IL, despite the having the 3rd largest city Yeah, Chicago isn't really a hotbed for college basketball, unlike North Carolina. They did host a regional in 2005 and a 1st/2nd round game a few years ago as well.

  4. he apparently wants to go to illinois, but that won't happen unless he wants to walk on. but jeff is bad, real bad right now. he may develop into something like frazier, but he's got a long way to go. Yeah, I think Marcus Jordan really needs a scholarship since his family is hurting for money. FWIW, I talked to Marcus after the NU/Illinois game at Evanston, and he said Davidson is his first choice.

  6. Why are you cheering for UCLA?
  7. Christ almighty, no. 50 on Binghampton is fat.
  8. I have to admit, if I didn't have a rooting interest for Illinois, I would have taken WKU in my bracket. Illinois is EXACTLY the type of team that loses to a 12 seed.
  9. It's the Western Kentucky that beat Louisville.
  10. Enberg just said George Mason came out of the Patriot League? I think he's thinking of Bucknell.
  11. Yes I just noticed that and plus American has a Curry on their team so I think that is the game I need to switch to now. \:D/ I think Curry's bro is on Liberty.
  12. Yep, that's Villanova losing by double digits to a clothing brand.
  13. I don't get ESPNU. Will the Northwestern/Tulsa game be on a local channel for me since I live in Evanston? BTW, those two teams have almost identical results in common games.
  14. Yessah! David Wright with the walkoff 2-run single, USA wins 6-5 and advances to the semis! That was a great game.
  15. Urgh ... only 2 K's in 5 innings?
  16. Well it's probably a fairer treatment of mid majors but I think it would lead to an inferior field. Eh, I think the chances are rather slim for it to lead to an inferior field. If you're worthy of a top 4 seed, chances are you are going to get matched up with the 60 - 80th best team in the country for an at-large game. That game should be a cakewalk, and if it's not, it will be one hell of an exciting game.
  17. i like it. the more i think about it, the more i get po'd by the fact that a team can dominate their regular season and then have a bad game and be out of the dance. totally unfair, but you don't want to lessen the excitement of the conference tourney games. however, there needs to be some sort of exemption for ranked, major conference teams. The conference champion would not have to play the at-large game, so there is still an incentive to win the conference tournament. For lower-level conference teams, it is a HUGE incentive.
  18. You know, with the insulting snubs of mid majors this year (Creighton and/or St. Marys), I've taken the liberty of thinking of a good way to expand the tournament. In 2014, a new conference will get an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament: the Great West Conference. That brings the total number of auto bids up to 32. Since I doubt the NCAA would want to take away an at-large bid just like the last time a conference was added, changes will be made to the tournament anyways. Here is what I hope happens. There are 32 automatic bids. These 32 bids are the winners of the conference tournament, with the exception of the Ivy League, which doesn't have a tournament. They get placed into the 64 team tournament. The remaining 32 teams are determined by 32 at-large games, consisting of 64 teams. The regular season conference champions that did not win their conference tournament are automatically selected into these at-large games. The rest of the teams are purely at-large selections. A committee will select these at-large teams, and after the at-large games are played, will re-seed the remaining 64 teams. You can put the losing 32 teams into the NIT. Does anybody see anything more unfair about this postseason than the current one? Any comments?
  19. My biggest gripe with those Big Ten Classics is that it's not in HD.
  20. Goran Suton was out for the early part of the schedule, including the UNC and Maryland losses. Raymar Morgan was out during the middle of the Big Ten season, which included the PSU and Northwestern losses. They are allegedly healthy now. Who was out for the Morgan St. loss?
  21. You have to have a winning record to play in those tournaments. Look above you. Clearly you don't to play in the CBI. Hmm ... guess you're right. I have to think Iowa was at least invited, but they must have declined. They wouldn't be a favorite in the CBI anyways.
  22. You have to have a winning record to play in those tournaments.
  23. Yep, a total of 129 teams will be playing in the postseason. I, for one, like the CIT. Who wouldn't want to participate in a tournament that's sponsored by the same group that produces penetrative shows like College Basketball's 50 Most Eligible. http://www.collegeinsider.com/the50/
  24. Anybody want to break down the CIT (CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament)?
