  4. Heres the pic from the Sun-Times..He either looks like someone stole his double whopper or he's thinking of another Gregg and Miles type player to sign. http://media1.suntimes.com/multimedia/hendryseries08.jpg_20090820_11_41_03_33-290-400.imageContent
  5. I bet he lets Harden walk so he can make sure he has enough cash to resign Gregg
  6. This [expletive] has been happening all season for them..I dont know how many times Ive watched them on gameday and see " runner advances on error " and see them score
  7. I have Broxton in my fantasy league, before the the break the guy was a freakin beast..His toe injury has been hurting him though lately..I wish we had a closer like that. :(
  8. He has his outings when he has no control and gives up like 5 runs and HR after HR, but when hes on, man he's on..Since the break he's been friggin awesome...1.63 ERA
  9. Heres what our awesome GM has to say "There has to be a sense of urgency," GM Jim Hendry said before Wednesday's game against the Padres. On Aug. 6, the Cubs were tied for first in the NL Central. They began Wednesday six games behind the Cardinals in the division. "We just haven't played up to our capabilities," Hendry said. "It's kind of a mystery to all of us. We've had a lot of guys who have hit their whole lives and they haven't hit. We've done a very poor job all year. It's frustrating. We just haven't got the job done." After going 14-5 in the first 19 games after the All-Star break, the Cubs have gone 3-9 in their last 12. Hendry won't use injuries as an excuse. "We can't be happy with anything," Hendry said. "We haven't, what I consider, come close to playing even the level we were playing after the break. It's that time now. It's whatever it takes time. There's a fine line between 'giving it your best shot' and doing whatever it takes, and it's certainly whatever it takes time now. "We've got to grind through it, we've got to play our best, we've got to play hurt, we've got to play sick," he said. "We've put ourselves in a very tough spot and we've got to find a way to get out of it."
  10. Heres from WiKi In September 2008, the Mets announced that Wagner tore the medial collateral ligament in his left elbow and his flexor pronator, would require Tommy John surgery, and he would be out for a year.[2] Wagner, who has a guaranteed contract, will be paid $10.5 million in 2009. For 2010, the Mets have a $8 million option with a $1 million buyout option. [3] In a news conference following the injury announcement, Wagner vowed to return playing. Although having previously stated that he will not pitch beyond the 2009 season, Wagner said he does not want to end his career in this fashion, and would like to win a World Series and reach around-420 saves.[4] However, Wagner stated that he has "played his last game as a Met". Wagner explained that it would not make sense for the Mets to pick up the 2010 $8 million option.[5] Despite this, Wagner remains on the Mets roster on the DL at the start of the 2009 season. However, he may be able to pitch for the Mets in August.
  11. Just seen this on Fanball.com According to the Twitter page of The Sports Network baseball writer Chris Ruddick, the Chicago Cubs are talking to the Mets about the pollibility of acquiring former closer Billy Wagner. Wagner is coming off Tommy John surgery, and he is expected to be activated by Friday. Our View With the recent struggles of closer Kevin Gregg and the inability of Carlos Marmol to throw strikes, Wagner would be a perfect fit in Chicago. He is a bit of an unknown at this point, but he is almost certainly a better option than Gregg. If Wagner would go to Chicago to close, he would instantly be a valuable fantasy piece and will fly off the free agent market.
  12. I just wanted to see your guys rankings and opinions on the top 5 to go off the board or list your picks for the whole 1st round...I have my live draft 10 team league next week and I have the #3 pick which is a a tough one because I don't know who to go with where as I already know the 2 guys ahead of me are taking Peterson and then Turner...So I can go with Jones-Drew who I'm leaning towards, Forte which I picked up in the 10th round last year and was a beast, or going with LT hoping hes fully healthy and be that monster from a couple years back...Im in a standard scoring league for yardage and TD's...Who would you guys go with at the 3 spot in a draft and your top 5 overall in general on draft day?
  13. Its really dark and about to get bad here in the southwest burbs
