  1. Granderson for CF then Uggla for 2nd base? Im up for that
  2. Roto Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Cubs are trying hard to trade Milton Bradley within the next 36 hours. Rogers finds it hard to believe that anybody will take him, but according to several reports, the Rangers have emerged as a potential landing spot for the troubled outfielder. Rogers also notes the Rays, who have been linked in discussions for Bradley since he was made available. Source: Phil Rogers on Twitter
  3. Cubs GM Jim Hendry says Milton Bradley may be back in 2010, and called the outfielder's '09 season a "major hiccup" Via Twitter from Carrie Muskat
  4. LOL at Hendry defending Miles and thinking the middle infield is fine.. Someone asked on the last blog why the Cubs seem “down” on Ryan Theriot. I don’t think 154 games played constitutes “down.” I think many of the fans are more down on Theriot than anything else. Here is what Jim Hendry said when asked if a middle infielder were a priority this winter: "Not necessarily. I'm very happy with Ryan. Theriot's a winning-type player. He didn't play quite as well late when we were out of it as he did the previous year, but he gives you 110 (percent) every day. You win a lot of baseball games with him. I thought Baker did a really good job after we got him. He gives you a lot of protection. He plays well at second. I think Mike Fontenot was a guy, he'd be the first to tell you, that he had a disappointing year. We certainly need him to bounce back. We've got (Andres) Blanco, who's a great defender. It's no secret that (Aaron) Miles had just a tremendous hiccup and a poor year after two really good years at St. Louis."
  5. How about talking to the Jays and try to get Adam Lind over here??
  6. It's been interesting to read some of the speculation regarding the Cubs and hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo. On Monday, one scribe said the team had offered him $800,000 a year. Fact is, Jaramillo had yet to interview. He was waiting for a phone call Monday from GM Jim Hendry to set up a meeting. Also, Cubs Minor League roving hitting instructor Dave Keller has not talked to Hendry about the vacancy, as some have speculated. Keller and Hendry were in Arizona last week, but did not chat about the job. There could be news this week once Hendry has a chance to meet with Jaramillo, 59, who opted to leave the Texas Rangers when that team refused to offer a multi-year deal. Another coach available is Carney Lansford, who was recently relieved of his duties by the Giants. His son, Josh, is a pitcher in the Cubs' Minor League system. -- Carrie Muskat
  7. Looks like it's very close to happening.. Highly respected hitting guru Rudy Jaramillo is in serious talks with the Chicago Cubs about becoming their new hitting coach, and it appears likely that the sides will reach an agreement for Jaramillo to join the Cubs soon, SI.com has learned. Jaramillo turned down the Rangers' offer to remain their hitting coach last week and is expected to become one of the two or three highest-paid coaches in the game with the Cubs. It is believed he will receive a multiyear deal for about $800,000 per year. Read more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/baseball/mlb/10/19/cubs.jaramillo/index.html
  8. Carrie Muskat's Twitter #cubs have asked #rangers for permission to talk to Rudy Jaramillo to fill their hitting coach vacany. could be an announcement early Nov http://twitter.com/CarrieMuskat/status/4924013381
  9. This just came in on Roto Hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo turned down a one-year offer and will not be returning to the Rangers next season. Jaramillo, the team's hitting coach for the past 15 seasons, is almost certain to catch on elsewhere. Meanwhile, the Rangers will take their hitting approach in a different direction after finishing a disappointing seventh in runs scored among AL teams in 2009.
  10. First day of buisness should be firing Hendry and Lou and everyone else in the organization who is an idiot and throwing Aaron miles into a shark tank
  11. Roto According to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark, the MLB Players Association is considering filing a grievance to challenge the Cubs' suspension of Milton Bradley. Bradley was sent home Saturday after a season full of battles with the media and fans in Chicago. The MLBPA will first confer with Bradley and his agents, Seth and Sam Levinson. If they OK the move, this could get really ugly. Either way, it appears the Cubs will try to move the disgruntled this offseason. Source: ESPN.com
  12. If I could have one thing out of the many changes on this team, it would probably getting rid of Soriano and freeing up 18 mil and puting fox in left and spending that 18 on a real SS, bullpen, and the other holes on this team
  13. Anyone couldve hit that meatball out
  14. Im in a standard scoring for yards and TD's...My draft is this Sunday, I cant make up my mind with the 3 pick..MJD or Forte..I think I want to take MJD, but then I think Forte would be the safer pick..MJD could turn into Marion Barber and not be as effective full time, but then again he could be a beast, Its going to drive me crazy between picking one or the other.
  15. I would love to see a WWE style thing once Ricketts becomes owner and becomes Vince McMachon like and sets up a press conference televised and goes " Jim and Lou, YOUR FIRED! "
  16. It is blasphemy and a disgrace to all of humanity that Aaron miles makes 2.5 mil a year
  17. WTF Lou? you pulled the pitcher for that?? For the love of God, fire Lou's ass.
  18. That's why he through his bat into the rack in the dugout. I know his slumps are very, very annoying and he makes a lot of money, but to imply that he doesn't try is a little ridiculous. I definitely think he tries at the plate, but doesn't look like he tries to change anything with his approach or with his swing I get the idea he doesn't think he has to change anything. Like you said, I don't think it is completely a lack of effort, but more stubbornness. If that is the case, maybe a full season of struggling will change his mindset a little bit. That's pretty much what I meant. He's to stubborn and selfish to change his game..Even in the field runners take the extra base on him because he just non chalantly jogs over there with no sense of urgency and he still does that. He needs to swallow his pride and start changing things around.
  19. you can tell Soriano just doesn't care how bad he is in the field and at the plate. He never tries to correct or improve himself or doesn't feel bad for anything he does or causes. I gurantee most of the game hes just completating what he's going to have for dinner that night.
  20. Good God, how can you have that poor judgment and discipline of the strike zone? Worst contract for a player ever
  21. Yup. When Hendry put all his eggs in one basket and failed, so he wayyyyy overpayed to get Pierre.
