  1. DeRosa batted .200 in his final 100 at bats last year with 1 HR..... way to overpay him Hendry
  2. I think Hendry likes Derosa since hes kinda like the second coming of MArk Grudzialeneck
  3. Well if this moves Theriot to the bench...Thatd be the start of having a solid bench
  4. From Rotoworld It's way too much of a commitment to someone who only figures to be an asset against left-handers. A platoon of Jacque Jones and DeRosa in right field would be very productive, but the Cubs are probably going to give DeRosa a chance to be their primary second baseman. DeRosa turns 32 in February and is a career .260/.316/.366 hitter against righties (to put that in perspective, Neifi Perez is a career .268/.298/.376 hitter). Versus lefties, he has an impressive .306/.367/.497 line. Platoon him and Jaque.. Im likin those numbers against lefties
  5. Me either.. Your gunna get the same numbers out of Theriot...
  6. If this situation ends up with Izzy gone and TheRiot at short then I think it's a good move. If the middle infield is Izzy and DeRosa then I pissed, that would require a HUGE boost in production from the OF and I don't see that coming thus far. That would be awsome right there..both good with OBP...Get rid of Izzy..
  7. Shouldve signed Durham...He would doubled Derosas HR's and RBI's, similar OBP and AVG... I wouldve taken more power from the position anyday...Why not just keep Theriot at 2nd..Theres really no difference there
  8. Ok so what would be the big difference between him at 2nd and Theriot, dont they both have similar numbers all across the board?? average,OBP,his SLG might be alittle higher, not sure, but the RBI and HR's would look pretty similar
  9. nice.thanks for letting everyone know.just turned it on..hes coming up next...itll be interesting what on what he has to say
  10. OMG jsut seen he signed a 5 year deal.. up on rotoworld.com Hooray I dont feel as horrible about the offseason now
  11. I dont get how the hell a deal cant work out already....If he loves Chicago so much, then just sign for 14 or 15 million a year..I don't get how they cant agree on anything...Im sure hendry is throwing the money on the table...So whats the big holdup if Hendry wants him and Aramis wnats to come back..this shouldve been done by now...I dont know if its Hendrys fault, Or Aramis jsut being stubborn and arrogant
  12. This cant be all Hendrys fault...Im sure hes laying the money out on the table.. Dont you think Aramis could be the stubborn one trying to milk every cent out of them that he can get, " Mr. I wanna be a Cub for life" should take the hometown discount and not ask for like 17 million a year...If he loved the Cubs that much hed take a fair deal and sign the dotted line..
  13. Please sell him the damn team...Hes already made me a believer..
  14. I totally agree with you...For a guy who said " I want to be a cub the rest of my life" and all that other stuff, he really is being stubborn about this, if he really loved this team he wouldve already signed..Hes making so much money, what the hell does he need a extra 2 million for?? Hes acting just like how he hustles..slow and stubborn
  15. He never said he'd never use it. yeah, i was wondering about that. Well he didnt say that but it was more in the lines of " Its just there, I dont think ill ever use it though"
  16. If Aramis leaves.. Would you guys boo him if he came back to wrigley with another team?? I like him alot, but this is the guy who said " Ill never use that clause in my contract" " Chicago is where I want to be the rest of my life" To me, its like, If you love chicago and being a Cub that much, just take the 13-15 million a year or whatever theyre offering you... I dont get the big difference between a few million with these ball players, its just sick how greedy they get...Im sure you can do just fine with 13 million a year Aramis..Cmon are these guys ever gunna use all that money? Hell No..If he was loyal to the Cubs and kept his word he wouldve never opted out or he wouldve re-signed already..
  17. Hey all, I just got to the computer today finally, Whats the update?? I just read on Espn.com and rotoworld that reportedly the Rex sox won with a bid between 38 and 45 million??? Thats just crazy, just to negociate..Hope its not true
  18. Well I guess notihng new in Japan this is what the one guy is sayin Just another quick note to amuse you, and keep you occupied. The Japanese tabloids are periodically producing news this morning, just as the American media seems to be doing. We're scouring the wires in Japan for anything new, and they are quoting US papers and media. Basically, both sides of the ocean are looking to the other for information, but all anyone can dig up is that no one knows anything. Brilliant!! The Watch continues......
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2655862
  20. heres what one guy on their board wrote... Couple of rumors floating around that the Yankees won with a bid of $27 million (just beating Texas' offer of $25 million). The Lions are meeting in Japan today at 2 pm (Japanese time) which I believe is 10 pm eastern time here. Maybe we'll know for sure later on tonight.
  21. Lucky, I want to go to a bar too but I have a stupid Business Law test tomorrow. Hopefully we find out before I go to bed around 2:30 this morning. But its " Thirsty Thursday"
  22. Im hoping to get loaded at the bar tonight and come home and see the Cubs got him then I might go chug a bottle of Jager and go streaking around town
  23. I did hear on ESPNews earlier today that the Seibu Lions would meet Friday to determine whether they would accept the high bid. I guess its Friday there now, right? Yes, Its Friday 10 AM over there right now
