  1. Lugo,Soriano,Lee,Rameriz,Barret what a beautiful first 5
  2. So were still looking for a CF and pitching....According to them
  3. LoL Piniella is so pumped up, he can hardly breathe
  4. So its official ..Soriano is not going to play CF...
  5. Im so excited already I think Im going to piss my pants...please let this be true
  6. The score is reporting that the deal is for 6/mid 90's guaranteed. The 7th and 8th year are options, not disclosed on who's options they are and after the 5th year his no trade clause is no more..Great signing
  7. This is a great day....The only pieces missing.. Is for sure pitching..2 starters.... Then i would love to sign Lugo, then have our 3-4-5 hitters Soriano,Lee and Rameriz.... That would take us all the way
  8. Ok so we sign Soriano, Our lineup is looking very Sweet...If we get the right pitching I think were good to go to the world series... Soriano,Lee,Rameriz,Barret,Jones no one is gunna mess with us
  9. I think hes doing this to redeem himself, after everyone considered him a failure...remember, he said no one will outbid him this time... So Foxsports.com is the only site reporting this?? anywhere else yet?
  10. It seems half this board wouldnt give up Murton for anything..Id give him for Westbrook straight up..Murton is a average player, and your getting a average, little above average back for him..How do you know Murton will get better?? Its not guranteed just because hes getting older and learning more, who knows this Matt Murton you see now could be the one for the next 10 years..Everyone seems to think hes gunna be some monster hitting 30+HR and 120+ RBI's... Sure his slugging and OBP is up there with Soriano and Lee, But Id take a monster like them in LF who can hit 30+ HR guranteed and scare the crap out of pitchers..
  11. Dunn
  12. Well everyone has the man love for Drew just like Murton...So its obvious which one everyone is going to pick
  13. From MLBtraderumors Tracy Ringolsby of the Rocky Mountain News has overheard a few possible offers to free agents. He says that J.D. Drew is "expected to sign a two-year, $30 million deal with Boston." It makes sense for the Sox to pay an extra $2MM or so annually to keep the years down on this deal. Meanwhile, in a separate article, Larry LaRue writes, "Boston has offered J.D. Drew a huge contract - and Lou Piniella's Cubs have matched it If the Cubs got Drew and Soriano..I dont know what the hell i would do
  14. Could anyone listening please recap of what he had to say on here??
  15. Are you saying Aardsma showed anything even close to a hint that he'd be anything except a reliever? Because I sure never saw it. That's what makes the Garland comparison, on ANY level, pretty ridiculous. Aardsmaa has shown flashes of what he can do..the guy lacks control though..What go is throwing 97-100 MPH if you cant control it...He showed what happens by getting rocked plenty of times..Well just have to wait and see... This trade to me, is pretty much garbage for garbage..It means nothing..
  16. i would love to have Manny playing at Wrigley.. A Career line of .314/.411/.500/1.011 This guy would be crushing balls into lake michigan..If hope we are pursuing him, or if we dont land a Soriano, or C Lee, Definetley go and get Manny
  17. You guys can check out what the scumbag sox fans are saying about the trade here http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=81235 they seem to like the deal, mostly because Aardsma is a flamethrower...they should know the guy has no control though
  18. All things considered, I'd rather have Murton. He'll cost MUCH MUCH less and he's much younger. I don't see why you couldn't have both though. Murton's OBP in his first 2 years is .370. Very solid. In case you didn't look it up, he hit .319/.390/.522 (.911 OPS) after the all star break. Please explain how Pierre had a solid year? Since when is a .330 OBP (especially for a leadoff hitter) and a .717 OPS "solid"? JJ had a good year last year, but Murton's was better. I believe people give Murton a little more slack because he's young. Young players are often very inconsistent. And just so you know, Soriano's career OPS is only .004 points higher than Murton's. Murton is only going to get better and Soriano is only going to get worse. I understand what you mean..But who cares about money right now..We have tons of it..Its not mine or yours..Its the Trib's...Spend whatever the hell it takes for us to win the world series...If your a pitcher, who would you rather face, Soriano or Murton? wihtout a doubt, its Murton..You wanna have those batters that scare the crap out of pitchers...Fpr example DLee and Ramirez..I know Murton had the Great OBP and is patient..But wouldnt you rather have someone like Soriano with 40+ HR potential up in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and runners on to save the game?? If we can kepe Murton and get Soriano..thats fine.. Im just talking about the man love for Murton that he gets, even when he blows...
  19. Why would we want Soriano in LF when we could have him in CF or RF and keep Murton and his great value in LF? Im just saying in general, during the 06' season, when there was talk of replacing Murton for this upcoming year
  20. The thing is, during the season, Murton could be in a 0-48 slump and no one will ever throw him under the bus or criticize him...Sometimes the guy would ground into 2 or 3 DP's a game, ruin great potential innings, but everyone would be like " Its OK Murt, go get em' next time" or complete silence, where no one would ever would bad mouth the second coming of Christ...I like Murton, don't get me wrong.. But then there would be guys Jones or Pierre who had solid years, and even when the had a solid day going 2-4.3-5, if they made a inning ending out, bad play etc. all of Cubs nation is all over them..Murton could get 4 K's a game and about 95 percent of this place wouldnt say a word...Its the same man love the sox fans had for Rowand...Murton is great at the price, and has great potential for the future...But cmon, the love for this guy is getting ridiculous..especially people who say " Id rather have Murton in LF than Soriano anyday" OK keep your 13's HR's 60 RBI's 5 SB's....you rather take that than 40's HR's 100+ RBI's 40 doubles and 40 SB's?????? Your CRAZY...
  21. LoL, you guys and your freakin love for not only Matt Murton...But then J.D Drew...You guys just salviate from your mouths just thinknig of these guys... and I find it weird that almost all of NSBB does it for these two.. but better players like A-Rod,Soriano,V. Wells ,M, Rameriz, you guys are so critical of them and always put them down one way or another...It seems like half the site is into good but injured gimps like Drew and Red-haired outfielders who hit 13 HR's...cmon guys seriousuly...
  22. Since when is a player's last 100 at bats an effective way to judge how much he should be making? I just meant hes overall being overpaid.. For a guy whos only hit more than 10 HR's once in his career, career .331 OBP.... Hes gettin to many years and money
  23. If he can start in RF when were playing lefties.. then I guess Im ok with it
