  1. Murton taking a scary route on that catch.
  2. Wuertz facing one batter. Is there a right handed version of a LOOGY? A ROOGY?
  3. Oh jeez. Is there going to be another Mets' grand slam against the Cubs?
  4. Cedeno is sinking fast. Can Theriot play SS? Yes. He did in one of yesterday's games at Iowa. But, I don't know how adept he is at the position.
  5. Where did that Pierre throw come from? A one bouncer to second base from the center field wall.....wow!
  6. I haven't heard about any penalty coming so I guess MLB is OK with managers ordering pitchers to throw at opposing hitters. On ESPN news, Buster Olney questioned Guillen's handling of the situation and believes a suspension is possible. That being said MLB usually takes a few days before taking action. I'd be very shocked if they just let that slide.
  7. Cubs fans are loyal, but if that happens you may see many jump ship.
  8. Nevin raising his trade value; unfortunately, he will no longer be in the trade plans.
  9. I agree with calling a 1b up. Hoffpauir could be called up and if Dusty needs his vet he can still play Mabry since he's not going anywhere.
  10. Too bad Valentin has been playing so well at 2b for the Mets. Otherwise this could be a great way to showcase Neifi to them.
  11. It would be nice to get Tejada or A-Rod. We would prolly have to give up ARam to get either of those two. If its A-rod that would be fine... because hes playing third right now... if its Tejada move him or Cedeno to third. The Orioles already have Mora, I am not sure ARam is a fit for them ARam to Baltimore for Tejada would be a pointless trade for the Cubs. Actually, probably worse than pointless as Tejada will decline sooner. the O's aren't doing much better than the Cubs are... why would it matter to Miggy? I'm confused by your response dvdd127. He's saying that it would be pointless for the Orioles to move Tejada for Aram since they don't need a third baseman. When he mentioned that "Tejada will decline sooner". He was saying that it is not exactly smart from a Cubs' perspective because it is more likely Tejada will decline(performance wise) because he is getting a bit older now.
  12. Yeah, well if you don't play him, how can you trade him?? Walker has been around the league long enough that GMs realize what they are getting. That being said I don't advocate Neifi starting over Walker.
  13. Any idea how many times Cubs hitters have been hit by a pitch in those same 21 games?
  14. Imo, Dave Roberts wouldn't be a bad choice for a year until Pie is ready. He would probably cost about half the price of Pierre and provide essentially the same in production. Pierre and Roberts seem to be the same kind of player. True....Roberts has better arm, however. But then again who doesn't?

  16. Theriot can play sort??? did you mean Short. if thats the case then yes... I say make Theriot a utility man and Fontenot a starter. 2006 at Iowa: Theriot (275 ab) .305/.369/.378...... 33 StrikeOuts/27 walks/0 HR/ 14 SB Fontenot (299 AB).311/.387/.475..... 52 strike outs/ 38 walks/ 8 HR / 5 SB Theriot is 6 months older so age is not a factor. Oddly enough both are out of LSU as is Todd Walker. FWIW, Fontenot was a 2001 first round pick of the Orioles in 2001. Theriot was a third round pick of the Cubs in 2001.
  17. Trachsel is pitching. The game might still be going on when you get back.
  18. Company line................. We're Going Nowhere
  19. Welcome to the friendly confines of Trump Field!
  20. Personally, I've laughed at a number of the posts. But, I think others find it "off-putting" because it reeks of hypocrisy.
  21. Who cares about last year!!?? Last year is over. I deal with moronic White Sox fans every day. I despise them, and I wish their team ill. The anti-Cubs agenda is not only limited to the fans. It goes all the way to marketing (us vs. them ads), management (KW saying he doesn't want to be 2nd-fiddle to the Cubs), coaches (Ozzie saying "f the cubs"), and players (AJ saying he was rooting for the Tigers over the Cubs). I have friends who are White Sox fans. I cannot hold a baseball discussion w/ them w/o them saying "Cubs suck" Why should I root for the White Sox?? Their fans have never rooted for the Cubs. They don't want Cubs fans rooting for them. Fine. They are the ones who picked the fight. I used to never care about them. I started caring and hating them after I moved to New Trier and dealt w/ their fans online and in-person. W/ the Cubs out of it, I might as well root for the White Sox and Cardinals to lose. "I sure as heck ain't rooting for the White Sox or Cardinals." - It's the only intelligent thing our manager has ever done or said. I don't think anyone expects you too "root" for the Sox. From what I read, I think they are commenting on your overall obsession with the White Sox. Honestly, how many Sox fans do you really encounter in the northern suburbs? Online? What sites are you visiting where you deal with this? WSI? Cubs.com? What else would you expect? New Trier is more White Sox fans than Cubs fans. When I pass by White Sox fans, they start going, "WHITE SOOOOOX!!" They do it to others too. They are rude, dumb, and obnoxious people. I hate their fans so much, I want to punch them in the face. So because they say their team's name, you want to punch them in the face? They very well may be doing it solely because they know it irritates you. It might have absolutely nothing to do with team allegiance. They do it to others, and they where White Sox hats and shirts. Not just World Series stuff either. And it doesn't piss me off, b/c I still wear my Cubs stuff You said you "want to punch them in the face".

From what I read, I think they are commenting on your overall obsession with the White Sox. Is Kenny Williams saying he doesn't want to play "second fiddle to the Cubs" that off putting? I'd hope my GM would feel that way. He wants a winner and doesn't want to be second in anything. Honestly, how many Sox fans do you really encounter in the northern suburbs? Online? 24. if you could do this without getting rid of Dempster I would rather do it then. In order to get value a team has to be willing to part with value. The purpose of the trade would be to fulfill the Dodgers needs as well as the Cubs own needs. In this situation, the Dodgers need pitching and either Dempster or Howry could be used since they hold the most value in the pen. I'm not excluding Eyre, but he has an NTC.
  25. Occasionally you see at the Yankees games especially the playoffs. He just looks bored out of his mind when the put the camera on him. But, boredom is the price you have to pay in order to be seen.
