  1. Wuertz must love the chance to come in with the bases loaded and Pujols up to bat.
  2. if he has trouble thowing K's he should'nt be in the bigs Did you have a better option? Glendon perhaps?
  3. LaRussa once again demonstrating his paranoia with sign stealing.
  4. I was just thinking of what I'm going to yell at Edmonds on Saturday at the game, then I saw your post and it made me wonder... how'd the AJP heckling go that you talked about? So-so...there was a 10-year old sitting in front of me, so I kept it PG. Did you have a sign?
  5. Well that was random. threw out one of the first pitches. Well having him there officially makes this season a joke.
  6. What the hell was that? Either he got the worst jump ever or he gave up on that way too soon. Get out of the inning, Rich. Coupled with the fact that Murton completely misjudged Luna's ball. I think that ball just died...I think everyone out there thought it was gone until it hit about a foot from the top of the wall. Murton has been out there enough to recognize that it is a possibility. And I think he did because he never gave up on it. He just plain out misjudged iit. Hill needs all the defense he can get.

  8. Specifically how so? Talking about how they really enjoy coming to Wrigley and all the stuff there is to do in the city. That's shocking Hrabosky is one of the biggest homers out there.
  9. FWIW, Hendry officially total Baker and then the media today that Dusty Baker will be the manager of the Cubs for the remainder of the season. So he has officially closed the door on any time of managerial change this season.
  10. Prior and Wood aren't Santana and Liriano. Hunter, Ford, and Sterwart aren't exactly Murderer's Row. What about the Yankees and all of their injuries or the Dodgers and all of the injuries they have dealt with this year? There are comparisons to be made about how teams have dealt with injuries and the Cubs, Jim Hendry in particular constructed a roster that was ill prepared to handle any kind of injuries. The Cubs had a lack of starting pitching depth and a horrible bench add to that few if any prospects in the minors leagues that might be able to come in and give a hand (position players). The Dodgers and their 1-13 record since the All Star Break beg to differ on how well they have dealt with injuries. Yesterday, it looked like Brad Penny wanted to rip Kenny Lofton's head off. The losing streak is starting to cause some issues in DodgerTown.
  11. Maybe LaTroy is part of the reason that Dusty has changed his attitude toward removing the closer.
  12. I'm not sure about "run him out". I think others are just exploring options. He commands value and it is worth a look. That's all.
  13. What are the Red Sox needs for this season? Pitching? Is it possible for the Cubs to pull off a Dustin Pedroia deal. Since Pedroia is now a second baseman he fills a need for the Cubs. Hill/Ohman or Hill/Wuertz for Pedroia. If Boston feels they need a second baseman in the deal since Loretta is a free agent after the season(I think), they Cubs could add either Theriot or Fontenot and the RedSox would add another minor leageur to the deal. Hill/Wuertz or Ohman/Theriot or Fontenot for Pedroia/another minor leaguer However, I'm guessing the Cubs feel that they have a second baseman in Neifi once Walker is officially gone.
  14. You have Greenberg twice on your list.
  15. 1. Gehrig 2. Foxx 3. Greenberg 4. Mize 5. McCovey 6. Anson 7. E. Murray 8. Sisler 9. Cepeda 10. Chance Note: I never realized Gil Hodges wasn't in the hall of fame. I Dick Allen wasn't, but just assumed Hodges had been put in.
  16. Ah, but Aramis is ON FIRE. If Stoneman is looking for a player to help propel him to the playoffs this year, Aramis may be the guy, so Stoneman might be willing to part with a little more. I agree that we shouldn't trade Aramis for anything less than a sure bet, ML-ready type prospect that can put up majorly good numbers. FWIW, Steve Phillips (I know it is Steve Phillips...take it with a grain of salt if think you should) reported tonight that he believes that Stoneman's could be on the hotseat. According to Phillips Stoneman and the Angels need to make the playoffs or his job could be lost. If this is true than I'm guessing Stoneman recognizes that he needs to win now and would be willing to part with minor leaguers for established players in order to save his job.
  17. Part of me is afraid that he will do something. I'm afraid because it's probably not out of the realm of possibility that the major addition the Cubs make will be either Willy Tavaras or Cesar Izturis.
  18. Anyone think there will be more Cards' fans than usual at Wrigley for this series?
  19. Is Rod Carew going to be considered 2b since he started his career there? He played 54 more games at 1b, but I just want to make sure before I comprise my list.
