  1. It's one thing to have to beat a pretty good team in the Brewers then you also have to overcome Froemming's largesse.
  2. you seriously cant i asked my fiance if I could get wayne to sing the anthem before our wedding ceremony. It's better when it is just him. It's not as good when his wife joins him. He needs to lose the baggage.
  3. So I bought a Rich Hill player's T shirt and I wore it when Hill was rocked against SD. Then I chose not to wear it during his next outing against the Sox and he pitched much better. So, I truly believe that Rich Hill's pitching outcomes are solely based on my wardrobe choices.
  4. He made the all-star team last year. Although he wasn't there for the game because he had to be taken to the hospital when Joey Cora accidentally hit him in the are with a bat during warmups.
  5. How did Longoria and Brignac look overall? In particular, how did Brignac look defensively?
  6. If they're still available, I'd be interested.
  7. now I don't know much about him, but it seems to me that if you are going to characterize him as 'best in the minors' it means he's pretty close. thus, why trade him for another starting pitcher? just bring him up. He is still only in AA. So my guess is they want to make sure they don't rush him. Although, it seems that he would atleast be ready for AAA by now.
  8. When you think of Don Baylor, I want you to remember these two words Augie... Ojeda.... The Cubs have been pretty consistently bad over the whole of MacPhail's tenure though, so there's obviously been more going wrong than just having bad managers. Baylor had as much of a traditional approach as Dusty did, and they both had a strange affinity for bad ballplayers and washed-up vets. Baylor may have contributed to Patterson's failures. Dusty probably wasn't good for Cedeno. Neither one really valued stats or understood that the most valuable skill in baseball is 'not making outs'. They were both awful managers. I'll give you that Baylor was never given the kind of talent that Baker was, but he was still a bad manager. That's what most of baseball seems to think anyway, as he hasn't been a manager since leaving the Cubs. Not disagreeing with you, but didn't he have to step away due to cancer?
  9. Apparently that was a rumor coming out of the White Sox to try to get more interest in Buehrle (forgot where I read that but I read that amidst all the Jacque Jones reading I was doing yesterday trying to find out why the trade was being held up). I don't think they would have given up Bulcholz for a Buehrle as a rental. I would be shocked if they did. FWIW....... http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/sp_bb_sox26_06-26-07_N765AL9.3680c04.html
  10. Damian Miller with the walk off in 11. 6-3 BrewCrew wins.
  11. Brewers/Astros tied at three. on to the bottom of the tenth.
  12. Well, someone had to hit one off him sometime. So, might as well get it out of the way early.
  13. Brewers/Astros still tied at 3. On to the bottom of the ninth.
  14. He looked unflappable which is good to see for his first time out.
