  1. Santo need to reposition the back of his toup. He showing a bald spot.
  2. yeah except in the all star game, when he hits a home run off a lights-out closer. Feel free to do that in games that actually matter, Fons. This time it counts!
  3. With that angle, it didn't look very much like a strike to Theriot.
  4. I hope you are right. I hope you are wrong because that will probably still be with another team. Unfortunately, I think he is here to stay.
  5. Fearless prediction: Big second half for Jacque. Did I really just write that?
  6. Yea really.Stupid Tribune company..Go to the Cell and do it, its already trash as it is so it wouldnt ruin anything there Roger Brossard would not be very happy.
  7. It really looks that bad? From the camera shot they just showed, it's in pretty bad shape.
  8. Hopefully, the cubs don't burst the bubble here and lay an egg.
  9. Get Sting back here! He has some work to do. I hope he knows a little about lawn care.
  10. Toronto: "You take him!" Baltimore: "Heck no. We've been taking Cubs cast-offs for years. It's your turn Canada!" Toronto: "He wouldn't be able to handle the exchange rate. He's yours!" Baltimore: GAAAAHHH!! Hendry, you beat us again!" Interesting.....Izturis would go back to Toronto where he began his career. Please be true.
  11. Not sure if this was posted anywhere. It was reported on The Score 670am. Here's a link to accompany the Score report.......... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AmklL0T_4T7D8qMq.27yf7ARvLYF?slug=ap-mets-francocut&prov=ap&type=lgns
  12. One of my favorite Rickey Henderson stories was told by Steve Phillips (I know, I know) last year on Mike & Mike in the Morning. Phillips recounted his negotiating of a contract with Henderson. Rickey: GM? (Rickey doesn't ever know anyone's name) Phillips: Hello, Rickey Rickey: GM, what are you going to give me when I break those records? Phillips: What do you mean? Rickey: I mean when I break those records for you, what are you going to give me? Phillips: Well, normally we give the player a crystal... Rickey: Who's crystal? Phillips: No its Tiffany... Rickey: Who's Tiffany? I don't know no Tiffany! Phillips: No, its a piece glass that will say... Rickey: What does Rickey need with a piece of glass? I don't want no glass. Phillips: Well, what do you want? Rickey: What about one of those things that John Madden rides around in? Phillips: You want a Madden-mobile? Rickey: Is that what he rides in? Phillips: I think it some kind of Winnabago. Rickey: OK, that'll do. click Steve goes on tell about Rickey coming in to formally sign the contract Rickey: This ain't the right deal. I didn't agree to this. Phillips: That's the contract we agreed to. Rickey: No this ain't it. Forget it. Phillips to agent: What's wrong? Agent: The deal is done, you can do what you want he's already agreed to it. Rickey: I'll play but I ain't signing that. Rickey is feeling a black ring around his heart. Last time Rickey got a black ring around his heart was with the Yankees and that didn't work. Rickey can't play good with a black ring around his heart. Phillips: OK, Rickey what can I do for you. Rickey: It says here, I only get 100K if I win the MVP. You're disrepecting Rickey with that number. The MVP gets more than that. Phillips thinks to himself, Rickey is 42 years old and is going to be a part time player. Phillips: I'll tell what. You win the MVP and I'll tear up this contract and shower you with money. Rickey: OK GM, let's sign it.
  13. Forget just being on the roster - he's batting third for the IL!! They really need some sort of rule that prevents guys with X amount of major league at bats from being selected. That might not be fair to those guys, but from the standpoint of a viewer I'd prefer not to see the likes of Timo Perez. Who's next.....Macias? ......Manny Alexander?
  14. Are the Triple A All-Star Game rosters posted somewhere? I tried looking at the milb site, but for some reason I don't see the rosters.
  15. Yes. They showed a brief shot of him in the bottom of the ninth. I believe it was right before the Hudson at bat. But, he was in full uniform in the dugout.
  16. Chances are better that Pujols wins the game, not just send it to extras. With the bases loaded and Derrek Lee standing at second, chances are a basehit scores two and, thus, wins it. I still don't think you can risk it. And again, Rowand isn't a pitcher up there, it's not like letting him hit is throwing the game. I understand Rowand is a good hitter, but Pujols is in a completely different ballpark. With home-field advantage on the line, I think you have to take the chance, especially when the odds are so much on your side. We're going to have to agree to disagree. No matter the hitter, you can't use the last position player you have in that situation, especially considering the defensive positioning issues it would've caused the very next inning, never mind concerns from playing with an empty bench. Wouldn't the move just have been to have Rowand come out, Soriano move to CF and Pujols to LF which he has played before.

But, with a struggling KRod pitching, it has to be a relief to face Rowand versus Pujols.
