  1. A bit outside, but probably close enough where he could have swung to protect the plate.
  2. With Glendon starting tomorrow, I'm not so sure it would matter.
  3. I missed the pitche. Was it out of the zone? lowwww
  4. Wow, that has to be odd watching a game as the sun is coming up.
  5. I'd like to see Pierre ground out to first base for just a bit of variety.
  6. Cubs are just happy that they didn't give up 2 on a sac fly  DeNEIFInitely
  7. How come the Cards can hit a fly ball with a runner on third so the runner can tag and score, but the Cubs can't?
  8. Back in high school, my coach taught that approach to bunting.
  9. 25 singles for Pujols along with 25 homers so far this year.
  10. watch the language HaHa...when you read the message and look at the avatar, it looks like LaBamba is serving as enforcer.
  11. Automatic three bases. Good thing TLR missed that. What happened with this? What does that mean? Barrett stopped the ball with his mask. If the ump wanted to call it or TLR(Tony LaRussa) wanted to contest it the rule book states that it results in an automatic three bases.
  12. Automatic three bases. Good thing TLR missed that.
  13. i don't think it was about whether or not he was going to jail and if they would have to pay the three days he would stay there, but rather more about the potential black eye on the organization that sort of incedent would cause, and the effect throughout the whole ballclub as a result of that. If he had to go to court for another DUI, I think that could play out longer than three days in jail. A judge could recognize that it was his third time and then the only way for him to learn would be a significant period of jail time. That could be a couple of months maybe even longer depending on the judge.
  14. I was asking if he was an "intelligent player". I'm not looking for ACT/SAT/IQ scores or anything of the sort.
  15. ha ha Did they post the final results?
  16. I was reading the poll at this site that asked whether you would rather have Ozzie or Dusty as manager. As I was reading, I was thinking how I don't recall hearing or reading from broadcasters/writers that Ozzie was an intelligent player. When I watched him play, I watched very passively but I do remember that he was fooled by the hidden ball trick. He fell for it three times in his career. Two of the three were in the same season. This points to a unintelligent or at least a distracted player. 6-23-89 - Greg Brock, 1B MIL catches him in the 9th. 8-5-89 - Dave Bergman, 1B DET catches him in the 7th. 5-13-91 - Steve Lyons, 2B BOS catches him in the 4th. Obviously, the Sox thought he was intelligent or they would have never hired him as their manager. I know that he won the World Series, but he definitely had some horses that helped in that regard. Granted he still had to manage those horses. So was Ozzie an intelligent player?
  17. Well, considering there's not an ounce of evidence that Pujols isn't his listed age, and there are mountains of evidence that he's a good guy............. it seems pretty obvious which one is more pathetic. I agree. There is so much proof as to Pujols being a model citizen and class act. To even feel the need to defend against detractors is definitely more pathetic.
