DITTO It's hard to explain. Hope for a highlight on local news or BBTN/Spotscenter/ESPNEWS tonight... You have to see a highlight. But basically..... Walker on 1st......grounder to second a little to the right of the second base bag.....so the infielder could not tag second base without risking the double play....so he run a step toward Walker coming to second thinking he'll tag him and make the throw to first for the double play. Walker then realizes stops dead in his tracks in the middle of first to second disrupting the double play. The infielder froze and was completely stumped and threw to first for the one out allowing Walker to go to second. He should have just Walked Walker back to firsst base and tagged him so he guaranteed getting the lead runner out. Phew that was long.

Great baserunning coupled with stupidity not to just walk him back to first and tag him so you get the lead runner out.

I wouldnt mind having Soriano at 2b next year. He is the right kind of guy for Hendry he has speed and power, but one flaw on him is he has a horrible glove at 2b. That is what Neifi is for :lol: Soriano and Neifi can share second base.

I imagine he thought Detroit would figure out his ineptitude faster than Chicago. that would be my guess as well Rothchild is from Chicago and wanted to stay home with his family. That was the reason given by him.

Buster Olney was on "Mike and Mike in the Morning" today and they were talking about the likelihood of the Soraino trade. He believes it is likely and that the Yankees and Cardinals are the two possible teams. He said that Bowden needs to make something happen in order to prove something to the Nationals' upper management and he essentially needs to pull off a coup in the dealing of Soriano. However, he believes that Bowden will not deal with the Yankees based on his grudege toward them and in particular Cashman. When Bowden worked in the Yankees system he was fired and it was Brian Cashman that escorted Bowden out of the building. Olney cannot see Bowden making a deal with them and Cashman and will stick to his grudge. The conversation ended there, but obviously that leaves the Cardinals in Olney's scenario. I know it is Buster Olney and it was ESPN/ESPN Radio and he has to say something to keep listeners listening, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

For what it's worth, I met Carlos Lee at the Milwaukee Art Museum over the weekend and told him that the Cubs may need a left fielder next year. He just smiled. Of course, the Brewers PR person sitting next to him was not amused with my comment, but why would she be? You should have told her we need a revamping of the entire Cub management and we might like her services too! I bet that would have put a smile on her face. Ditch the Brew Crew for Cubbie blue. -
I believe that the Devil Rays have a day or days when the players greet you as you walk into the stadium. They have the players standing at different gates and talking with fans assuming you arrive early enough.
