  1. Carpenter pitched a total of 21 innings in 2007 and 2008 combined.
  2. I like how he misspells like half of the names in his article.
  3. Tremendous upgrade. This is kind of funny -- just a couple days ago I started writing a script in Greasemonkey that was going to turn all of the content into tabular data... thank God I didn't get too far into that, it looked like it was going to be a lot of work.
  4. Cameron is a good example of why slugging percentage is not always the best way to gauge someone's power. His average is too low to make his SLG look respectable. His IsoP is .198 for his career, which is well-above league average. Think of it this way: In terms of SLG: Cameron last year: .477 League average last year: 417 Cameron is roughly 14% above the league average. However, look at it in terms of IsoP: Cameron last year: .234 League average last year: .152 Cameron is roughly 54% above the league average.
  5. "Kershaw, the promising young right-hander, warming up in the 'pen."
  6. Just like Beltran was seeking 10 / $200 million? He "only" wound up with 7 / $119 million. I could see Texiera getting something like 6 / 120 or 7 / 140, but I don't see anything beyond that.
  7. I really like the dead-center view some of the FSN's are switching to, as they make it much easier get an idea of the sides of the plate.
  8. 17-1 after Howard's second home run of the night.
  9. Really, though, where these guys were drafted has very little relevance. Or maybe none at all.
  10. Disagree: Ryan - 79 OPS+ Miles - 81 OPS+ LaRue -- 43 OPS+ I see three black holes.
  11. Ludwick insists his OPS is too low, and homers again.
  12. Tonight's lineup: WOW! This is gonna be a fun month.
  13. At LEAST three weeks.
  14. Grade 2 strain at worst. He'll be out through the All-Star break, but this is not season-ending.
  15. Pujols just left the game. He got about three steps out of the batter's box, then fell to the ground writhing in pain because of his calf. They had to carry him off the field... Looks pretty bad.
  16. Most of the projection systems in 2004 thought very high of St. Louis, though. This year... they project them to finish 4th or 5th. Basically, I'm saying 2004 wasn't as much of a surprise as people make it out to be.
  17. To be announced tonight or tomorrow.
  18. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/32456B7DBB9EEC44862573690069E6D7?OpenDocument Ugh... I hate to see him go.
  19. Ankiel - Pujols - Edmonds - PH
  20. No kidding, they're getting some really hard-hit balls off of him.
  21. Anybody watching on MLB.tv? This camera view is awesome!
  22. Nine losses in a row. Well, this series has at least lived up to its billing. The first two games were very entertaining. I hope the last two can be just as fun to watch. See ya guys later. Guess the butt-kickin' of the Cards continues for the Cubs.
  23. The hell? I thought he was done for the year?
