yeah, i pretty much agree with all of this. it's not an ideal location in terms of today's atlanta, but i don't really see how the new one will be much better. traffic on the perimeter is just as bad and will likely become worse with the ballclub and accessories added to the mix. and sure, the public transportation situation to get to the games isn't perfect, but something is better than nothing, which is exactly what the new stadium will have. i'm definitely disappointed with this decision

well, that's not exactly true. it's not not going to cure your cancer and let's not forget that this is essentially a human rights issue, since we're imprisoning millions of people for these ridiculous laws and spending quite a fortune to do so just to play devil's advocate, if you suddenly emptied the prisons of petty drug offenders, the unemployment problems would be even more unmanageable than it is now That's the worst possible argument for anything ever. It's not an argument against legalization. Just food for thought not really, it makes no sense

well, to the first point, that's an awful lot of leash. i get it, and i (mostly) agree, but it's incredibly generous. i will be really nervous if we head into the 14/15 offseason without significant hope for a very competitive team in 2015 which brings us to the second point; not all 67-win seasons are created equal, so we'll see if this year's is the kind that feels like it went the right way or if it feels like yet another season of reset expectations -

Care to give me a google map link of the location? I'm not too familiar with the area. Sure thing: Link It really is too bad it will never happen, because it's absolutely perfect. Walking distance from 3 El lines, a few blocks from LSD and 90/94, a long walk or short shuttle/bus from Union Station/Ogilvie, plenty of space for all the other revenue generating crap they want, and they could orient the view from the stadium with the skyline/Sears Tower. holy hell this is the most genius thing ever tt

I'd rather watch the Bartman inning on a 3 hour continuous loop than watch hockey. That the filthy Blackhawks have won TWO championships since 2003 and have brought a godforsaken resurrection of hockey here is even worse than the White Sox winning the WS in 2005. i hate you so much
