  1. Just popping in to say I don’t want the Bears to draft either of these guys, woof
  2. I would rather have any 53rd man on a roster than Bryce Young straight up. Young doesn't look like an NFL quality player.
  3. Am I crazy to think that trading up in the nfl draft is almost always a value-losing move? If you got to, out of desperation, do it, then do it. But the payoff is almost always negative to the assets you possess
  4. It makes me wonder about the quality of opponents down the stretch and wonder if we overstated the improvement we saw from the D and O lines. The Bears played 4 playoff teams down the stretch. The line play, honestly, looked better than the Lions did in both match ups. They looked pretty damn bad against the Browns - the Oline was pretty bad, the Dline did get pressure though. They looked horrible on both sides against the Packers.
  5. Regarding 2) they really only had 1 year to address needs. Because they were purposefully trying to tank in year 1. (You can dispute if that was a good strategy or not! I am open to the idea that it wasn't a good idea) And yeah, they didn't effectively address all those needs in the one off-season they set out to address them - but they made progress. I wish they did more to address the Oline, and more effectively. Neglecting the Center position in particular seems to have been a huge blunder. Davis has been a huge disappointment at Guard. But the holes are far more manageable this year compared to last. It is a test to see if Poles can do enough to address them, particularly if he brings in a rookie QB.
  6. 1. The RB group not having a #1 is simply not a problem. They have a good stable of RBs and honestly.... you can just get any random guy out there. I will say, I'm out on Khalil Herbert. I know he had a couple nice games down the stretch but I really don't like the way he runs - he goes down on first contact too easily and that matters much more to me than home run potential as a runner. I would like to see D'Onta Foreman brought back and teamed with Johnson. But its an extremely minor issue. 2. Oline-wise...you're absolutely right. They need a Center and a Guard, and can use depth everywhere. Ok. Use some picks and cap space to solve that - seems easy enough! 3. Defense. You need a couple guys. An edge rusher and a safety, and hope the DTackles improve. Ok - not a huge deal for me. 4. I guess we need a punter. None of these things are big deals to me! Or, rather, we have the resources to adequately address them. Through the draft and free agency we can easily add a couple starters and depth pieces.
  7. Now that's not fair. There were also a bunch of awful toss plays that got blown up in the backfield too.
  8. I think, with great sadness, that Getsy is no worse than the 4th worst OC in my lifetime. Shoop, Ron Turner and Mike Tice we’re all markedly worse. I barely paid attention from like 2016-2021 though, so there may be worse offensive minds there
  9. I don’t hate Eberflus but I think you can absolutely upgrade from him and I would prefer an offensive coach, especially if we’re drafting a QB. There’s nothing I find special that he brings to the table.
  10. People are starting to bend the stick a little too much in the wrong way because the team played badly against the Packers: No, this roster isn't a disaster and no we aren't very far from the playoffs. Poles has actually accumulated a good amount of very promising talent: Moore, Wright, Stephenson, Dexter, Sweat, Gordon, Brisker, Roschon Johnson, the list goes on a bit more too. Thats actually a very good hit rate for two drafts and two offseasons. If you get slightly better QB play you make the playoffs as a low wild card this year. (You also make the playoffs with slightly better defensive play down the stretch as well, but thats a more complicated fix ((and a less important one, IMO, in a much more offensive oriented league)) than upgrading at QB). Go draft your guy, Poles. Let's see what you can do.
  11. Kyle, people like him as a person. I think you can understand that.
  12. Team overall played bad, but the lines in particular were awful. DLine got no pressure and was moved around with reckless abandon by the Packers Oline. The Bears Oline couldn't protect and couldn't run block. Fields wasn't given a lot of help but he also didn't help himself. He took a couple sacks he didn't need to. He wasn't quick enough to beat the blitz or even just run of the mill pressure. Yeah, he was pressured, yeah the Oline sucked, yeah his receivers weren't getting open...but I'm tired of the excuses. Great QBs overcome that. Great QBs score at least one TD under duress. He couldn't manage that. I ain't mad, I love the kid. He's got a great attitude, he's gonna start in the league for a while. But it's time for the Bears to take a flyer on one of the better prospects coming out. And they need to fix a bunch of stuff on top of that. Bring on the scouting reports.
  13. I hope the Bears draft a QB. also hire Harbaugh please, thank you
  14. I can’t be mad about anything the defensive backfield has done. There’s been zero pressure all day. in the NFL that means a completed pass
  15. It’s crazy how no matter the QB, the coaches, what other players are around…the Packers always make the Bears look like horsefeathers
  16. Fields is holding onto the ball too long again.
  17. He is simply not feeling the pressure well
  18. Bears DLine not getting any pressure and also getting pushed around by the Packers. Bears Oline doing nothing. That’s the difference in the game
  19. I fully expect the bears to be down two scores by the time they get the ball back lmao
  20. Fields is driving me nuts yeah the Oline is being beat up but THROW THE GODDAMN BALL
  21. I would just like to point out the CJ Stroud, as a rookie, had a season that would be indisputably better than any Bears QB season in history and led his team to the playoffs for those saying if we draft a QB we can’t expect to compete
  22. What’s Dave Taub doing these days? Can we offer him the head coaching job?
  23. The defense was still….OK against Manning at the peak of his powers, and Hester spotted the team 7. I watched highlights again recently and I forgot how much of a monsoon that game was. The variance that introduces probably favors the Bears, but then you also get the…Cedric Benson fumble ☹️
  24. It's nice to have those things. Those things can definitely help you win, if and only if you have a competent and effective passing game. There is no way to win a Super Bowl in the NFL if you don't have an effective passing game. That's it.
