  1. Good Lord, prophetic Cardinals announcers. :?
  2. He runs pretty well for a big fat guy.
  3. Heres hoping Cliff Floyds crappy legs don't cost us again here.
  4. DeRosa's drive proves there is no god.
  5. Feeling? Its all but guaranteed.
  6. That "single" by cliff floyd better not cost us a run here. NO DOUBLE PLAY
  7. Way to get on base Lee! Hopefully you aren't hurt though. :(
  8. Did anyone else hear "You must be this tall to play on this field"
  9. There was an Eric Andino who played football at my High School and now plays linebacker at Michigan State
  10. I'm still completely baffled as to how Soriano missed those pitches, they were right down the friggin middle. Any other hitter would be salivating at the thought...I don't understand it.
  11. 3 meatballs and Soriano can't make contact? What the hell?
  12. Marquis does better than any pinch hitter we have! Hooray! C'mon soriano, lets snap this tie.
  13. Lord, Kendall is not catching any breaks, 2 especially well hit balls.
  14. I'd love him better if he was better at driving in runs with his glove HE SCORES YES
  15. Why should we expect a team to go 7-0 to end the season?
  16. Wasn't it 7 games left? Whichever, its still not much of a lead compared to a 3.5 with 6/7 to go.
  17. Even the staunchly anti-clutch FJM guys say that the MVP should have a little something to do with "clutchness", and for that reason I think supporting Marmol as our meaningless MVP makes sense. Marmol has seemingly been impenetrable in late game scenarios saving our ass time and time again. He's been our Bullpen Ace, and I actually hope he never moves to Closer because closers are so misused in this game.
  18. There is no comparison with 2004. We had a 1.5 game lead with 10 games to play in 2004, so far from a lock I can't even understand where peoples expectations came from. We obviously should have been the favorite but you also have to expect the potential for a letdown. The wildcard, by its nature, is always more competitive than most division races. Look at the wildcard this year, there are still 3 teams very much in it. We have a 3 game lead with 6 to play. (Now its 2 games with 5 to play) If we collapse here it would be the worst collapse of all time. Now if we avoid Steve Trachsel (and Piniella has hinted at so much) then I have hope we can avoid that disaster.
  19. because they've won 3 in a row? they lost 4 in a row right before that At least they haven't given up, like the Cards. It's interesting to see a team that won the World Series last year play with such a lack of pride. more like lack of talent Did Wainwright, Eckstein, Edmonds, Spiezo, Ankiel, Miles and that Pujols guy all of a sudden all become talentless bums? The moment Pujols got hurt, yes. Edmonds has sucked all season now that he's old, Ankiel since everyone got the memo on the hole in his swing. Eckstein is ok, Spiezo and Miles suck. You got me on Wainwright having a horrid game against the Brewers. He tanked it. Come on. Search your heart. You know it to be true. Chick Gandil and Swede Risberg were at 1st and 2nd last night for St. Louis, and Bud Selig was seen drinking bathtub gin with Arnold Rothstein. Did you know Chick Gandil could play first base without a glove? Isn't that amazing?
  20. One problem with that is them showing hits/home runs from the Cubs-Marlins series when the Cubs got swept. Aren't these supposed to be positive memories? One of those clips is definitely from the NSBB day game, which I thought really weird. I saw several losses in there...I guess it was more of a HR reel than anything. Weird seeing those Barrett shots. It needed the Derrek Lee inside-the-park home run. Man, that was an exciting moment. Bizarre highlight reel, about half of the home runs were in losses. I'm only halfway through, but I'm not seeing any pitching or defensive highlights, and that dissapoints me, as that truly is the story of the 2007 Cubs.
  21. Yeah, seriously guys, I can't believe people are actually expecting us to lose this division lead. I'm gonna get into a lot of trouble if I guarantee anything, but look at the numbers quickly. The Brewers basically do have to win out to give themselves a chance, our job realistically is to not get swept twice.
  22. ahahahahhaahha, thats hilarious. Now Illinois has the hardest game so far coming up. I'd really love to see them upset one of Wisconsin, Michigan or Penn State, but history says otherwise.
