Ah well whatever. He's done for the day anyway. It was one of the first 3 ball counts I've seen him work to. He apparently has 3 walks on the year but I cannot recall a single one
Well done. What is this I'm feeling...competitive spirit? Excitement? That this feels like a real challenge and a team that can match up somewhat with the team so it feels vaguely competitive? Strange
I'm gonna be honest, if Ramos isn't in the lineup this Nats lineup, even with Revere and Werth hitting a touch more, is just not that scary. You do what you need to do with Harper and Murphy and the rest of the lineup has Bum tendencies Imagine how unimpressive they would be if Murphy's turn into Tony Gwynn during the 2015 playoffs didn't somehow continue.
This is some primo 2016 Cubs right here. Taking a bunch of pitches, getting walks, getting the hits you need to score some runs. Gonzalez may have a hard time going 5 now.
Oy. A bunt hit and hitting the pitcher really made that happen. Bummer Now we're gonna more or less walk Harper and hope to get the guy basically hitting .400 out, bleh
I really like this signing. At worst he's done, at best, we've added a decent lefty to the pen that we're in need of. EDIT: Jesus he's only 29? I thought he was in his mid-30s with how long we've heard about his trials and travails
Agreed. Even year or not, I don't mind facing the Giants in the playoffs (they're, IMO, a lesser evil to the Mets, Cards or Dodgers in a short series, as little as that may matter) Now, if they acquire Ryan Braun this year as well....hm....
Is it really that odd of a stretch though? Basically shows their pitching has been excellent and when scoring league average runs they would go 7-1 in that stretch I guess if there's a weird thing to it its that the Cubs have had slightly *poor* luck in 1 run games, which is hilarious
