  1. The other thing: The officiating in this game was horrific. Bad balls-strikes, poor calls on the field and worse reviews. This game doesn't bother me at all for one good reason: we still won.
  2. Hendricks v. Scherzer also gave a slight edge to the Nats I'm actually kinda shocked Hammel's peripherals are so "bad" (a 3.70 ERA isn't all that awful at the end of the day). I remember him actually pitching very very well for the first starts of the year and only has he seemed completely off course around that leg injury. He's walking an extra batter per 9 from last season, and his strike out rate is slightly lower, so yeah. Get better Jason. I think a big reason is that Hammel is a fly ball pitcher that typically has a FB/HR rate around 12-12.5%, and this year its at 8.7% which would be among the best 10 or so pitchers in the NL (i think). He has allowed only 15% of his runners to score when usually it is about 22-28%. Also his BABIP against is at .251 this year after being around .280ish the last few years. His peripherals suggest he is getting unsustainably lucky. These are bad scary things because I already bang my head against the wall during his starts

  4. I've decided Jr. deserves his own thread. His charmed cup of coffee includes nailing a runner at the plate in his first big league inning in the outfield, having a 75% RBI rate per hit, and smacking a game winning double. Seal Boy and Handsome Exit Velocity Man are gonna start having to feel uneasy about their jobs soon. Cuz Albert ain't so bad looking himself.
  5. Well that was low drama. Nice! Touch up Strasburg and win the series
  6. At least Russell is seeing the ball very well the last few games
  7. I have too much to do to deal with an extra inning game, just win, fools
  8. The Nationals have scored all their runs on sacrifice flies Pathetic. They should be embarrassed. And we should be winning
  9. After playing with fire for like, 20 at bats against Zimmerman, he finally hurts us
  10. Wood, an effective and valuable player, is exceedingly frustrating to watch pitch
  11. Javy is still a valuable player if he plays excellent defense, runs the bases well, and only hits people's mistakes. But its damn frustrating watching him throw most of his at bats away.
  12. I'm totally fine with Zobrist going for 2 there, you gotta get a run and if you get thrown out at second its, whatever
  13. Yeah, either Strop for the 8th, or heck, bring Rondon out for the 8th because those are the only hitters you have to worry about, unless you hit a god damn bum again
  14. What kind of black magic do I need to cast to get this Pedro Strop every time out?
