I also feel supremely confident that despite the fact Baseball is gonna Baseball that the Cubs will make the World Series

    The whole point of WAR is that it's quick and dirty. It's not meant to be parsed. It's a complicated composite of a bunch of numbers nobody really needs to or wants to understand. If you want to look deeper into a player, look at other numbers. And if its all you look at you'll have a warped and useless understanding of player value - but if you're a radio commentator, you'll keep an imperious and self-satisfied attitude And now Spiegel is clowning on him for his slavish devotion to Fangraphs which is fine

    I listen to the Score altogether too much and I'm beginning to hate that Bernstein has latched onto sabermetrics in the most simpleton way possible, that is, looking only at WAR numbers and not really having any intellectual curiosity into the composite numbers that go into it, and its infected the rest of the station. I guess its better than people just going with their gut and talking about RBIs but jesus use your brain a little.

    that is a nice thing: at this point its almost guaranteed that the Cubs have a more successful postseason than the 2015 Cubs

    how in the hell is olver perez still in the league i thought he must be nearing 40 but he started pitching at age 20 so, that explains his 16 years in the league

    hmmm well its looking more and more likely our opponent will be the Dodgers. Not ideal, I think we don't match up with them as well as we do the walking wounded Nationals, but it is what it is.

    There's actually no one I would want to drop on the roster for a hella rusty Kyle Scwharber even if he was 100% healthy, but if they activated him they would have the biggest and best cajones in the history of baseball and I would love it forever
