    I agree, I never realized how much negative influence one NON player could have over a team. Never in a million years would I realize how bad of a manager Dusty is. I feel bad for the Reds fans that brush off the Cubs fans portrayals of Dusty thinking that the Cubs fans are just bitter because their team sucked during his tenure. But they have to realize that the reason they sucked was largely because of Dusty. He influenced transactions, on the field moves, organizational philosophy, clubhouse attitude, public perception, EVERYTHING. And in almost all of those categories he influenced it very negatively. It's ok. We'll be laughing next year when the reds suck and drop out of contention.

    Lots were clamoring for Theriot when Izturis was the other option. Theriot was a better choice than Izturis. That doesn't mean SS isn't a hole for the Cubs. Yeah, Riot was a much better option than Izzy. However, that doesn't exactly say how good he is. He's average at best. We could get by with him at SS, but an upgrade is entirely possible. I don't want to get by with him. I distinctly remember people wanting Theriot, but I also remember us dropping games and losing ground with Izzy @ SS, and since Theriot is better than him, I see no contradiction between wanting him then and wanting him replaced now. BTW--I think folks would generally be alright with Ryan as a bench player. He can play 2B + SS in a pinch, at least give someone else a rest. I'd love Theriot as a bench player.

    Right. It's just like fishing. You're going striped bass fishing. You've got birds on top and you follow the birds. Where the birds are, the bait fish are below that. Below the bait fish are the striped bass. That's what you want to do. That's how you want to do your lineup. That way they can't escape. That's how I try to make my lineup out so the opposition can't pitch around this guy or that guy and that guy and can't escape. You try to get them in the crossfire. Hahahahha well played.

    When you actually get something to back up any of the crap you are spewing out of your mouth, I'll be ready to listen to you. If you don't appreciate us bashing Dusty, or if you don't believe what we're saying, go to a reds board. We're not forcing you to read our posts. We are all still pissed at dusty and are not going to give evidence every time we bash him. Everyone else on the board acknowledges Baker's veteran fetish and disregard for the significance of obp and walks, so we don't feel the need to include evidence of Baker's shortcomings as a manager in our every post.

    Is fuld any good? I hadn't heard of him before he was called up last year. All I remember is that he is fast and a good defender, but I don't remember anything about his offense.
