I may be mistaken, but isn't Jones our only left-handed hitter (Izturis doesnt count as a hitter)? Isn't it bad if we have 1, potentially no left handed hitters? -
Is there any chance that we signe Schmidt? A rotation of Z Schmidt Jennings/Westbrook Hill Prior/Miller would be AMAZING when added to our lineup.

If we sign Soriano, would we be done with the offense? A lineup of Soriano DeRosa Lee Ramirez Jones Barrett Murton Izturis Is better than last yr assuming everyone stays healthy, but it is probably not good enough considering the pitchers we're looking at to be our 2-3 starters (Lilly, Padilla, Meche, Marquis).

That's right, nobody likes 40 40 guys. we need walks. LOL In five years Alph will be 35 plus change. I agree with IMB. To be fair, Soriano is probably one of the most athletic, well conditioned guys in the game. It's not like we're talking about some unathletic guy who's always out of shape. Conversely, his loopy swing isn't likely to age well with declining bat speed. If we don't get drew, what options do we have to improve this team though? I hear Sammy Sosa wants to come back. I think he'd settle for a 3 yr. deal. :lol:

I was just about to ask that. I remember a bunch of people saying his defensive negatives outweigh potential offensive positives.

Why has noone mentioned Carlos Lee? If we trade Jacque and end up with a cheaper leadoff man (Roberts) at CF, why couldn't we use his power.?

How often does a team that loose exclusive rights end up resigning the player. I can't think of one time with a big name player. I still hope Hendry gets this done and it get announced tomorrow. Paul Konerko. That said, I still doubt this'll happen with ARam.
