  1. I know this isn't a realistic thread, at least not at this point, but Lee has a full NTC.
  2. From David Haugh's article today: Not to overreact, but are we looking at the end of Harris's career? Or just a bad time here?
  3. yea, i thought it all was talk about how great he wanted to be, but now I'm not so sure..... and whats this crap abouta degenerative cond in his knee? can anyone but hub verify that? I found a bunch of links to a no longer available Sun Times article from 4/9 where they confirmed with Dr Andrews, who has worked on Harris before, that Tommie does NOT have a degenerative knee. http://fantasysports.usatoday.com/content/clubhouse.asp?sport=nfl&majteam=CHI&line=115094 Googling "tommie harris degenerative knee" brings up a lot of other fantasy sites quoting the same sun times article. I'm really not a fan of Hub.
  4. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2008/10/harris-suspende.html
  5. Yeah, without knowing what he did, I'm guessing he was out anyway, and so disciplining him probably wasn't as painful as it otherwise might have been.
  6. I didn't want to bury this in the Presidential thread...thought it was something that might appeal more broadly. Obama was on Mike and Mike this morning:
  7. Cubs road jersey, no name or number. Cubs hat. My 2yo son will be in his home Cubs jersey, no name or number, with hat.
  8. Greenberg and Golic both picked the Dodgers this morning. Greenie says he's rooting for the Cubs, but the Dodgers pitching scares him, and Manny is on fire, and we can't pitch around him every time.
  9. and a saxaphone and a black angel The one angel that is yelling is like that guy from Heroes with the sonic yell.
  10. Special teams isnt giving him enough of a hole to start a return. One he gets going, he has enough time to juke and if needed accelerate to full speed (like what you saw on that kickoff return) I think the Special Teams misses Ayenbadejo. That man was a human wedge. Actually, when they do a straight up kickoff, he's getting some room. He hasn't broken one yet (though almost last night), but I don't think it's because he doesn't have holes. It's more with them kicking short, kicking OB, then kicking over his head cuz he's playing up (like they did last night on the one where he ran backwards...). Hester's always gonna be that way. What makes him exciting, makes him a risk.
  11. I'm guessing that these numbers wouldn't be the same if we just went with August and September...or even just September. The Dodgers pitching has finished a lot stronger than the Cubs, mostly because Zambrano has stunk, and Harden has pitched sparingly.
  12. Tait and St Clair were bad last night. Madden did a great job pointing out Forte helping St Clair out, and St Clair just blowing it anyway, as the lineman just rolled to the other side of JSC. Just awful. Tait looked helpless all night long. At least Garza made a few holes for the RB's to run behind. Orton had no time to throw. Orton made some mistakes, but I still think he did a nice job last night. Hester needs to stop running backwards. Payne seems to have a knack for INT's. I don't miss Rex.
  13. Indiana Jones was on there a while back too. It's probably on every schedule. It's just a sponsorship with the video game company that's releasing that game I'm sure...
  14. From Jon Heyman's CNNsi.com article: If you can get him a good price, awesome. But please Jim, don't get 1999 disease.
  15. Huh? When did that happen? (The NFL thing) when ABC had it a couple of years ago ABC was still doing MNF a couple years ago, and their entire production staff is essentially run by the same people at ESPN. I don't see how that is a problem. ha ha ha, woops. You know what I was thinking of? FOX doing the BCS games in college football. Sorry, not enough coffee this morning. Ok...you had me really confused.
  16. I remember being at work and watching the Giants-Marlins first round series on Gameday during the day back in 2003 when we were playing the Braves at night. At least back then, when Fox(?) had the rights, they planned it according to what games were most likely to draw a high audience... But I only liked that cuz it favored us...I'm sure other teams fans didn't care for it.
  17. Huh? When did that happen? (The NFL thing)
  18. The straight insults in that email/letter causes it to lose some weight.
  19. Over/under percentage that Lane Kiffin actually really gets fired Monday if Oakland loses Well it's a 100% guarantee it will be talked about regardless of how the Raiders do but I'm saying a 60% chance he gets fired if they lose. Hell, there's probably a 20% chance or so that Davis fires him during the game. Oh yeah, it's a definite it'll be talked about. I just find it funny that after every game so far this year, there's been a story that Al Davis is just about to fire Lane Kiffin - and yet it hasn't happened so far. It is pretty amusing.
  20. Orton is now the only 2005 draft pick still on the roster.
  21. They played the video along with the Pat and Ron radio call on Comcast Sport Net this morning on Sportrise. I imagine they'll do that all day on that channel. I thought I remembered that season really well, but I don't remember where I was now...weird. I know I'd have been back at college after having spent the summer in Milwaukee doing an internship...but I just can't specifically place where I was when that happened.
  22. And if that's the case, I admit overreaction. It just pushed that right button on me...
  23. I couldn't disagree with this more. We have a bigger obligation to win the World Series. Set your teams up for the postseason, and then worry about fielding the best team after that. Losing teams don't worry about this stuff when they're playing all the kids from their farm system at the end of the year...why should a contending team worry about it? I'm not saying we should run out scrubs every day...but I don't think we should put the obligation to be competitive at the end of the season over the obligation to be competitive in the postseason. Maybe that's not what he's saying...but it's just one of those baseball idioms that drives me nuts.
  24. Sun Times thinks it's Dempster, Lilly, Zambrano, Harden, to which I laugh. Holding Harden until game 4 would be a huge mistake.
  25. I love the talent, but if Soriano is gonna be injured for part of each season (like he has been so far with us), I'd rather not have another key hitter be injury prone. A major, major reason that we are where we are today, is because we were pretty healthy this season. Outside of a Z stint on the DL, and a Soriano stint on the DL, I don't think we had any "big names" go down.
