  1. Those deadlines are anything but....they'll extend it 48 hours if need be. And in a market like SD, the local fox/cbs station will buy out the remaining tickets if necessary probably. That game won't get blacked out.
  2. Apparently the Pats are looking at Derrick Brooks now.
  3. It was a brain fart at a huge moment in the game. It happens. It's really, really rare for our special teams to cost us a game. In fact, they've won more than their share the last several years. I'm willing to forgive that one. Our offensive woes are far more concerning than Mannelly's mistake.
  4. I guess nobody wants to weigh in on this? I'll probably go with Jones or Jackson (right now have them in that order). I'd say Hightwoer, but sneaky's already been burnt by me once. I kinda like Jones.
  5. Yep...no suspensions for any of the Starcaps folks until the Williams litigation is done. He doesn't want to suspend some guys for something other guys aren't getting suspended for.
  6. I don't. Yeah...I hope they get what they can for him. It's doubtful that he's going to get better moving forward.
  7. Guy in my league just dropped Houshmandzadeh to pick up Nate Burleson. I know Housh didn't score a ton of points this past week, but wow. I'm #2 in waiver position. :beg: Had the most points in my league this week, but WR is a weakness...
  8. Des Clark has a cracked rib. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/09/desmond_clark_suffered_a_crack.html
  9. Yeah, but Morissey has been on this for a while now.
  10. I'm pretty sure the Eagles' D is a tad more lively than that bunch from Detroit you saw last week. I still like MVBrees odds I had Philly's D this week, and my opponent had Brees. He got 37 points out of Brees...I got 29 out of Philly's D. Should be a fun collision this week.
  11. NFL Fan rule #1: Never, ever, under any circumstances (but especially in dire circumstances) believe what an NFL head coach says.
  12. Yeah....not sure if he's ready to be a backup. I was really looking at it more from a Bears standpoint. I think it'd at least be worth bringing him in for a workout. Of course it's a moot point if the decision doesn't come down. He can't play till week 5 if suspended.
  13. He's got nothing left in the tank. I was surprised he stuck around with the Saints as long as he did. Hmmm...his 2008 numbers don't look terrible if used as a backup. 3.9 yds/carry. No fumbles. I don't think he played the whole season, but still. I think it's better than what we currently have.
  14. Are you still using the ip address? If you're using the domain name you shouldn't have that issue anymore.
  15. Apparently the NFL is supposed to decide today what they are going to do about the Saints players in the Starcaps case. Speculation seems to be that they will put any action on hold until the Williamses litigation is complete. Which means no 2009 suspension. In that case...if there's no suspension, would the Bears be interested in Deuce Mcallister to complement Forte? I don't know what, if anything, he's got left. But surely he's better than Wolfe/Peterson.
  16. Thanks for the reminder :D
  17. Sounds like Rosenthal took a Phil Rogers or Steve Rosenbloom idea and presented it as something that had more merit than it really does. I don't think the Cubs are parting with Z.
  18. C'mon Gates I need 7 fantasy points.
  19. I agree. This idea of not changing the scheme even though you are dropping in overall talent is as stupid as not establishing Forte before the end of the half. To expect Hunter to be as productive as Urlacher is really not smart. This is soooooooooooo stupid. Derrick Brooks is a better OLB then Hunter is a MLB. So I don't know why Lovie is adament about this. Hunter is NOT good. Probably because they haven't signed Derrick Brooks. Even if the Bears are going to change their scheme some with Urlacher out, I wouldn't expect Lovie to say so.
  20. No question. I wasn't attempting to say Mannelly was right...just explain the thought process. It obviously was a mistake. A large one.
  21. Yes....but Mannelly's thought was "free play"...see what the direct snap can do...and if nothing else, you can punt on after the 12 man penalty.
  22. I'm pretty impressed that not only did Wolfe manage to catch a ball snapped to him that he wasn't ready for, but he had the presence of mind to actually make something out of it. If the Packers didn't make a pretty good play there, Wolfe might've been able to make something out of that. Still...stupid. Yeah, Wolfe looked like a viable backup running back which is a nice development. Most of last night was a disaster but I think you could look at Wolfe, the secondary play outside of Vasher, and the D line was silver linings. Hester looked good as a WR as well. On another note:
  23. Mannelly was trying to catch them with 12 men on the field, and he called the audible, with a hand signal before the snap, and Wolfe then knew it was coming. I know the signal was there, but I'm not sure he saw the signal. He looked realllly shocked to get the ball.
