  1. My Card fan buddy keeps trying to tell me that a big deal for Holliday actually helps them with a future deal with Pujols, becuase Pujols wants to see them start spending money in free agency. I guess we'll see about that.
  2. I'd like to go once, simply because I've heard about it so much, and it lets you see players/coaches in a different setting than where we usually see them...on the field. But I don't think it's something I'd want to go to every year. And definitely not this year. I still dislike too much about this team.
  3. Cowher to Buffalo is the rumor of the day. Added to list.
  4. Yes. Without the blocked EP or Peterson's fumble in OT, we're not having this conversation and it's another big choke job by the Bears. to be fair, they also dropped a gimme interception and had another (tough) one go right through their hands. Yeah...the "could/woulda/what if" game is always an easy one to play.
  5. Petersen fell a couple of times trying to cut. Manning fell on his big return if I recall correctly. It was just embarrassing.
  6. It might be some wishful thinking on my part.
  7. That one is a hard call. I'm gonna leave him where he is for now...but with Jerry, who knows.
  8. Juaquin Iglesias could be activated for Sunday with Hester and Knox both down. That's good news for Knox. I couldn't believe there wasn't a late hit call on that play. Cutler has certainly been frustrated with Knox this season, but it's pretty clear that Cutler really likes the kid. There couldn't be a late hit call. He wasn't down. He fell because the Soldier Field turf is horrible. So many people fell without being touched last night. It was a joke. But anyway, Knox fell, and hadn't been touched by a defender. He could've gotten back up and run. But the Minnesota player smashed Knox. Was a perfectly legal play.
  9. I really think these sponsors are really dropping the ball by dropping Tiger. It makes sense to not put out ads at the moment with him in them, but this is going to blow over. Sure, we'll all joke about Tiger's "infidelities", but he's still going to kick some ass on the golf course, and people are still going to buy things with his image on them. I think dropping him is a short sighted overreaction.

  11. Ok...moved him.
  12. I'm being pretty generous in the "coaching interests " section. Let me know if I need to add or remove any...or make any corrections for that matter. I'll try to continue to update this thread over the next couple of weeks. I'll bold ones that appear to be more likely than others. In Serious Danger: Eric Mangini - Cleveland - SAFE Jim Zorn - Washington - FIRED Tom Cable - Oakland Lovie Smith - Chicago - SAFE Perry Fewell - Buffalo - FIRED Gary Kubiak - Houston - SAFE In Some Danger: Raheem Morris - Tampa Bay - SAFE Wade Phillips - Dallas Jeff Fisher - Tennessee - SAFE Rumored coaching interests: Mike Shanahan - Washington Bill Cowher - Buffalo, Houston, Tampa Bay Charlie Weis - Kansas City OC Mike Heimerdinger - Tennessee
  13. Haha...more non-Bears fans rooting for the Bears this week than actual Bears fans are.
  14. To be fair, Andy only mentioned ND after abuck brought it up... Well, ok...Andy mentioned it in regards to Bob Stoops, but not in the way you're implying. Unless you're referring to reactions outside of this thread?
  15. I'm in my fantasy championship game. I'm 11.8 points ahead with all games played by my team. My opponent has one player left.....the Minnesota defense. But I'm in full "root against the Bears so Lovie will get fired" mode.....*sigh*
  16. Yeah see, I'm not sure I believe that's what happened though. I'm guessing a select few contributed a lot more money than that. I just don't think they got 700 people to donate $5 each. But it's cool. It's their money, and I suppose I've spent money in worse ways. I'm sure some individuals spent more. But what about the thousands they may be paying for season tickets? What's the bigger waste? You win.

  18. http://bearfansunited.org/ I'm all for the sentiment, but what a waste of money. Doesn't sound like it's their money, or all that much to begin with. The tally on the right has them at around $5k. And my belief is these fan campaigns usually have little to no impact. Any amount of money spent on it is a waste, imo.

  20. Ha! Poor Mrs. Childress.
  21. While I would certainly welcome seeing some Favre/Viking failboating...I'd rather they crush the Bears as part of the continuing process of getting this coaching staff out of here.
  22. But why? If you are going to make a change, what is the point/benefit of delaying that change? Because you don't have to have someone Ron Turner or Bob Babich or Pep Hamilton or Rode Marinelli or one of the other bad coaches on this team take over in the interim. What's the point of going to one bad lame duck coach to another bad lame duck coach? I mean, if they think they can get Shanahan or Cowher easier by firing Lovie now, then I'm all for it. But short of that, I just think it's kind of pointless. The point is you can do away with all pretenses of dealing with back channel negotiations with your most wanted replacement candidates because the job is truly open. You can throw the fans a bit of a bone even if you are going to lose, and you can shake up the players a bit with 2 games to play to reiterate how important it is to play their best. That message is not getting across right now. Some guys don't even look like they are trying. Bottom line, if you are going to make a change, get the ball rolling on that change right now. I certainly won't be upset if that happens. I just don't think it's likely.
