    I hate anticipating Sunday sporting events. It's like I'm in a hurry for my weekend to go by to see the game, but then afterwards it's like...ugh...I have to work tomorrow....:P It's a real problem for me during football season.

    I'm with you, and I think what is bothering us is a lack of hope. There's no big name superstar like a Jake Peavy, or Brian Roberts, or Nomar, or anyone that's going to come and help turn this team around. There's no big name guy that's going to be coming off the disabled list to help out. This is a full strength team that's sucking. There's no indications that Lou or Hendry are in any kind of great danger of losing their jobs...maybe some hope on the board, but there's no massive outcry that I've noticed...not like there was with Baker and Baylor anyway. And we're stuck with some massive contracts that aren't going away after this season. Lee and Lilly (I think) are the only two that are free agents after this season...and really, Lilly hasn't been a problem since he's been here...and there's no real heir-apparent for Lee. So those don't feel like relief points. The Blackhawks, Bulls and Bears all have something to look forward too...though some moreso than others. I just don't see that with the Cubs right now. And it turns out that I'm a bigger fan of the Cubs than I am of baseball as a whole...which I'm not proud to say around here.

    Fair enough...I didn't realize that it was that cut and dry with big basketball deals.

    Salary...years...possible sign and trade deals....basically all of the logistics that goes along with a big signing.

    But lets be honest. He might know where he'd like to go, but he's not making final decisions until numbers are being discussed, which he can't do with anyone (other than Cleveland) until July 1...correct? I just don't think it's as simple as waiting on July 1 to roll around to hand him a jersey.

    The talk seems like it's getting too hot too early...there's still a month and a half till Lebron can sign with anybody.

    Yeah, you either want more fans or you don't. Part of growing the sport is new fans learning about the game. So, especially during the playoffs, you're gonna have that.

    This is only true depending on the type of team you have. The Hawks, who can score 5-6 goals a game could be ok without an elite goalie but the Canadiens for example, would have been gone in round one. It's not just offense though. The Hawks have strong defense, other than the goalie. So Niemi doesn't have to stand on his head.

    Yeah...and I think people are really writing off Niemi when they shouldn't be. They imply that he can't make big saves...when we've seen him do just that. He's not a goalie that will win you games maybe, but I think he's being underestimated.

    LT's defense is going to be that he didn't touch the girl...he touched himself!     Some seriously lame trash talking going on in here....

    ? He's started the last 8 games and 16 of the last 17, despite an OPS that's lower than his SLG most years. With his comments yesterday about being his "own hitting coach" or whatever, it's just coincidental timing, that's all. I'm not upset about him being out...he's played like crap. Just thought it was curious timing. Might be nothing but a day off...

    Reminds me of a caller a few weeks back that was talking about how he didn't like/want Lebron because he's too immature. MICHAEL WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IMMATURE That was exactly how that argument went. B&B ripped the guy, saying Lebron is more mature at this point in his career than MJ was...and arguably is more mature now than MJ is now.
