team captains get a yellow for team misconduct. I'm glad sulley asked. I had the same question. No question the team was out of line though....they were unhinged at that point.

Goal for Serbia. That probably does in Australia remote chances.

2 more goals makes them even in goal differential and goals scored with Ghana...but Ghana still has fewer goals allowed...not sure if that's part of the tiebreaker. Really there's not much chance for Australia unless Ghana comes back to win.

Big whoop. He's not on the Bears anymore. He wasn't an MVP, or a Super Bowl winner, or some future HoF candidate...what obligation do they have to treat him with kid gloves? They didn't mistreat him...they just asked him to leave, and walked him out. What's the big deal? This is not worth the amount of discussion it's received.

Another newb question. No ties in the knockout rounds, right? Do they just play overtime?

If a player gets a 2nd yellow in the 3rd game, they are still suspended for the first knockout game, but no cards are carried over. So nobody is carrying a yellow for the US going into the round of 16(otherwise, at least Altidore would). Thanks...I either need to read better or he didn't explain it very well. Much clearer now.

The guy on the ESPN chat said he thinks that the slate is wiped clean as far as yellow cards after the round of 16. Is that right? Doesn't that mean the only reason to avoid a yellow card next game is to avoid getting two in the same game?

If form holds, I look forward to Kyle's my bad regarding the unimportance of the tie vs England. A potential matchup v Uruguay or South Korea to get to the semi's? Yes please. Even more than just not having to play Germany-Argentina-Mexico in the early rounds, we're on the completely opposite side of the bracket as them. We wouldn't see them till the final. Probably a good chance we'll have Brazil and/or Italy on our side of the bracket though...at least they wouldn't be till the semi's.
