  1. I've been to Atlanta a few teams and it was loaded with transplanted Chicagoans. Yeah...Chicago fans are gonna be there whereever they end up. But I understand the thought process.
  2. Not sure if you read the article, but this was part of it...

  4. Yeah...if the secondary doesn't have to worry about playing the run, it makes pass coverage a whole lot easier.
  5. Brad Biggs made it sounds this morning as though there is serious doubt that the game will be at TCF. Apparently, there's no heating coils under the field like there is in most NFL stadiums, so once they get the snow clear, there's a layer of ice underneath. Field condition is a major concern. The Vikings really want to have it in Minny because of they're 50 year celebration or whatever, but he suspects the NFL will make a final announcement today on where the game will be held. He said that Atlanta is a possibility for a couple reasons. One, it doesn't give the Bears a "home field" advantage like Det, STL or Indy could. And two, the Monday night game next week is in Atlanta, so ESPN could just leave their equipment there over the Christmas week.
  6. Even getting away from those fancy new fangled stats, he had the best starters ERA on the team last year,
  7. They're taking volunteers to help clear the bleachers at the stadium, as apparently there's 5 foot drifts in some spots... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/12/cold-comfort-stadium-preps-for-bears-vikings.html
  8. I would LOVE it if the Bears could end Brett Favre's career. I thought that opportunity was stolen from us by the Bills. Maybe that dream can still be a reality!
  9. The Bears actually moved up a spot in the ESPN power rankings, from 9 to 8 thanks to the Pack and Jets losses.
  10. When I say that he "lucked" into them, it's that they were coaches that other teams weren't exactly clamouring for, and supposedly were not the Bears first choices. I suppose that could be the product of media speculation to some extent though.
  11. Yeah....I view Smith's increased job security as an unfortunate consequence of having a "better than expected" season. At least better than *I* expected. Maybe I'm selling him short because I dislike him, but I think he lucked into some pretty talented assistant coaches this season.

  13. Rose's wrist is sprained.
  14. 3 NFC North teams in prime time this week. I wonder when that last happened.
  15. I don't think you're gonna have a choice. I don't think Brett is playing again...almost def not this week.
  16. yeah, but this is particularly bad. A "1" instead of an "I"? One of my friends asked why the Big 10 logo looks like in internet password It's the Big id10t
  17. Like you, I'm not expert on the subject, but I'm guessing the cleanup is much less of a concern than the fixing of the holes in the roof. If those holes are fixed, I think they'd play.
  18. A decision on whether or not they'll be able to play there is expected today. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/12/decision-on-metrodome-status-expected-monday.html
  19. That's the best case scenario for the Bears I think. Simply because it's playing a dome team outdoors and it's not like the weather could get any worse than what the Bears just played in. What are the other options? Ford Field? Edward Jones? I'd much, much rather they just get the Metrodome fixed and play there. We can beat the Vikings there. The Bears defense is based on getting to the ball carrier fast...I think that's part of where we suffered on Sunday (among a ton of other things). I think the Bears are built more for warm weather/domes. EDIT:
  20. I've heard that U of Minnesota is the backup option, but that they think that the Metrodome should be good. I would imagine that they will make every effort to have it in the metrodome so they don't lose out on the money from refunds. Also U of Minnesota holds something like 14k less ppl.
  21. Looks like the Big Ten picked a bad time to start sniffing glue. http://skeptico.blogs.com/.a/6a00d83451df0c69e20120a7b4c061970b-800wi
  22. Don't you get it? The logo can say B10 or BIG or BIGTEN or B10TEN Yeah, but I thought they do something clever where it would show a 12 in there somehow.
