  1. Ha...I didn't realize that the Big East will now have 17 teams for non-football sports.
  2. Just an opinion of course, but... http://fantasyfootball.fanhouse.com/2010/11/25/week-12-idp-rankings-linebackers/ That's more fantasy related though....
  3. Well sure, if I get to pick a perfect scenario.
  4. No...Utah announced they were leaving about a week after Boise announced the MWC move. Boise did reaffirm their commitment to the MWC after that, but that was also, obviously, when TCU was still going to be there.
  5. I was wondering about that, and I don't get it. CBS doesn't have an attractive early game other than Pats @ Bears. They already have Miami @ Jets at 4:15, and KC @ SD isn't terrible either. There also isn't a huge Fox early game, unless you count NYG @ MIN. It's a CBS doubleheader. They won't have national competition from Fox for the 4:15 game. They'll be able to get a huge audience with the Chicago and NE markets with no Fox. Sure, but they already have Miami @ Jets and KC @ SD. Plus Fox does have 2 late games that will take away in certain markets. They could dominate 1 and 4, but now their 1 games won't compete with FOX's games. It seems like they are putting all their eggs in the 4pm basket instead of taking both. They probably feel like they want that one really big number to be able to brag about. But of course, that's purely speculation.
  6. It's the college football mentality. Your recent wins (or losses) are more important than ones way back at the beginning of the season. They forget that, unlike college football, the championship game isn't determined by a glorified Power Rankings.
  7. That article annoys me because they imply that Lance Briggs (and Urlacher) is not an elite LB. Yeah...Marinelli and Smith are mostly just lucky that those guys have managed to stay healthy.

  9. Yeah...it's pretty crummy. The conference should be pretty strong next season at least.
  10. This is true. Heck, I'd almost rather have the 5th seed then win the division with the 3rd seed. Either way you are playing on the first weekend and either way, you are playing on the road in the next round and likely the next 2 rounds. I'd trade a home game against the Saints for a road game against the Rams or Seahawks anyday, and I don't care if both teams have good home records. Eh, I'm not so sure I'd hate to face New Orleans in Chicago in January. Getting to play GB two weeks in a row would be interesting as well....especially if both games were meaningful.
  11. Boise's still Pac-10/12/14/16 bound whenever they expand to 16 teams. I'd expect Houston to be on the MWC's radar right now. Maybe even SMU too. Is Boise State committed to the MWC for a certain term? Or can they just bail whenever the Pac 12 opens the doors?
  12. Dallas? Oakland is only 2-2 against that crappy division. They have been grossly overrated ever since beating KC in overtime. I think of the 8 western teams, San Diego is probably the best but the seven remaining teams are all sub standard. And while Detroit may be better than their record, they aren't good. Part of Oakland being overrated was that McFadden was actually producing for a while. He's been bad for a few games in a row now (as has my fantasy team as a result).
  13. I understand that the NE and NYJ games are gonna be tough for the Bears, but I can't wait to watch those games. They should be much better contests than I think some "experts" have thought they'd be. Bears should have a very entertaining finish to this regular season.
  14. Hey Raw, I wonder if you still think the bears should be looking D-line with the first pick in the draft? They're looking like they're going to be pick much further back in the first round at this point, and D-line looks like it's developing into one of the more solid areas of the team. Getting an OT should be a more reasonable pick with them drafting further back, don't you think?
  15. Yahoo sports speculates that Smith could be one of the top 4 longest tenured coaches after this season, and in the running for Coach of the Year honors.... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AvIwL29YPtehjNrfdEVV44tDubYF?slug=cr-winnersandlosers112810
  16. Bears-Broncos is probably a long shot, eh? heh
  17. It'd be a hilarious time to take away the Big East automatic invite and give it to the MWC.
  18. The Pats lost by nearly 3 TD's on the road in Cleveland. They aren't unbeatable. And neither GB or Chi plays NYG this season...unless I'm misunderstanding your post? The Bears already played NYG. The Packers play them later. Gotcha...was looking at the wrong schedule.

  20. I don't see it. They have no talent on the line. I think Tice has done as good as he could. Yeah...even with the issues with guys coming through untouched, it's been a massive improvement over what we've had. There's run blocking occurring. Not on every play, but a lot more than we've had. We're giving Cutler enough time to make some throws, and to scramble in many instances. Martz has helped a lot with the O-line too though...by running more, and by giving Cutler some short, quick passes to make.
  21. Good for TCU. As a Boise fan, I'm a little jealous...with them being in an AQ conference now.
  22. I love how Eagles fans are talking about the stats like the 4th quarter garbage stats were somehow significant.
  23. Don't forget to read game threads on other team's message boards too...
  24. I hate sports.
