Stafford hasn't even played a full seasons worth of games yet, for one.

Vick gets smashed because he's much more of a runner. Personally, I have no problem if they let the starters play all game. Same. I don't want them to have two weeks of not playing. They've been playing well...lets keep it rollin.

I don't know that what you linked really justifies the move to cable though. I mean, it's doing great...for cable. But you could still make the argument that it would do better on network tv. I'm having trouble finding much in the way of ABC MNF ratings info other than record highs and record lows though. Yeah, but the complaint was cable ratings would be terrible. Meanwhile, since that decision was made cable TV has blown networks out of the water in terms of performance, if not overall ratings. It was exactly the right time to make the move. Cable is a much more viable place for quality/profitable programming than its reputation was when they switched. Gotcha. Yeah, I agree cable was the right move. Though I wonder if ABC ever wishes they still had it...Monday night is not a strong night for them.

Things can still change, but it's looking more and more like it's probably a safe bet that this will be the NFC playoff scenario #1 Falcons #2 Bears #6 Packers @ #3 Eagles #5 Saints @ #4 NFC West While the NFC West champ is possible, it's probably going to be either the Eagles or Saints for the Bears in the 2nd round.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong here, but in that last scenario, I'm pretty sure that ATL winning is inconsequential. If NO and Chi both lose, ATL gets the #1 seed, right? EDIT: Nevermind...I see...those are either/or scenarios...

Personally, I thought there was some really good stuff from Webb last night. I don't know that he's the second coming of Vick or anything, but he has potential. I loved how many times he should've been sacked and deked some Eagle in the backfield.

I don't know about that. They've been more dangerous, but not all that consistent. They scored 7 against New England. Cutler's struggled to get 200 passing yards, and the team has struggled to get 300 total. To be fair, they are always a threat to score, which is something the Bears generally never are. They have won the only 2 real shoot outs they have been in this year, and I'm not saying I have no hope for the playoffs or anything. This team can beat anybody in the league, and that still includes New England. Like someone pointed out earlier...somewhere...I forget which thread and when....the Bears may not get a ton of yards because with their special teams, they end up with a short field so often. They don't have to put together a lot of long, sustained drives. In fact, Football Outsiders has the Bears offense with the #1 starting field position in the league. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/drivestats LOS/Dr is average starting field position. This isn't to say the offense is unbeatable, of course. But NE game aside, they've passed the eyeball test lately. yes, but they have their yards per drive or drive success rate or whatever at 28. Well yeah, yards per drive would be fewer because they have fewer yards needed to drive. But yeah, drive success rate is an issue. I wasn't excusing the offense from all of it's ills. Just pointing out that points scored is probably a better indicator than yards for this team.

And now NO will most likely get a 7th, while the Bears or Philly probably will get to deal with GB.

Sure...but I think it's a fair assessment to say the offense is on an upward trend, but there's definitely a long way to go.

They need to consider a new way to do the seedings. Never been a fan of division winners automatically being #1-4. It's not really a problem. I know it's your thing...to state an opinion as a fact with no detailed explanation...but just because you say something, doesn't make it fact. NFL playoff seeding is a problem...how much of one is certainly debatable, as there are certainly a lot of larger issues to address, but to just flat state that it's not a problem is just annoying.

I base this on my years of insightful draft analysis, and my keen scouting skills.... Notre Dame QB's are crappy NFL QB's...at least since Joe Montana. I don't expect Clausen will ever develop into much.
