    You don't think GB would have played their defense differently if Bennett had been in there instead of Davis? No, they wouldve given Bennett the underneath routes all day like they did Davis. In that case, I think Bennett would've burned them for a lot more yards than Davis.

    The simple fact Rashied Davis had about 6 or 7 balls thrown his way yesterday tells me that not everything was meant for a Bears win yesterday. Take a look at how many catches he had yesterday in comparison to the entire season. Then take a look at how long he's been a member of the Bears, specifically special teams. He didn't all of a sudden step up to be the Bears go to guy. Something tells me that the Bears didn't really want to give playoff teams a lot to look at on game films, while also attempting to keep people healthy for playoffs. Knox and Hester are two of the quickest receivers in the game. That's not to discount very good defensive play by the Packers in that game. But........ The Bears heart wasn't totally in it on the last series. From the 3:00 minute mark of the 4th quarter, they ran 1 play before the 2 minute warning with 70 yards still to go. To be honest, it looked like the Bears all took the 9 1/2 point spread with their local bookies and did everything possible to cover. Davis got a lot of looks because Bennett was out, and Davis was probably left uncovered by GB, because why wouldn't you leave Rashied Davis uncovered? If I'm GB, I'd MUCH rather have Davis with 8 catches or whatever than Knox with any catches.

    Lol it's not up to the coach whether or not the players give a [expletive]. If the coach tells you you're playing the whole game, you're playing the whole game. And that's what Lovie did. But it doesn't mean all of a sudden you care more as a player. Not having anything to play for affects you, even if it's on a sub-conscious level. It's all about desperation. not to mention I think Knox/Hester/Aroushamado(sp?)/Olsen proved they really didn't give a [expletive] with their crappy play. Offensive line as well. I dunno...I think those guys just played like crap. Knox has his share of brain dead games. Olsen too. Aromashadu only had like one chance that I saw...and not sure what Hester did wrong. Not that he had a chance to catch it, but on that last pass, I'm pretty sure I could read his mind. And he was thinking, "man, I'm not about to extend myself so I can get drilled in a game I shouldn't even be playing in". If he was really trying, he would've willed himself into being a foot taller at that moment.

    I'm equally good with any of GB, NO or PHL at home. We aren't getting GB until the NFCC game.

    Yeah, I mentioned near the start of this thread that I was surprised that he was gonna get the boot. It's the best season that Oakland has had since the SB run.

    Well, the Bears didn't just roll over, but lets not pretend there was some urgency behind their play. They were out there, and played hard...but it wasn't a playoff for them or anything. Only one team in that game yesterday had their backs against the wall.

    He got 15 carries, I'm really not sure what you're complaining about. Basically, I'm saying either [expletive] or get off the pot. Why? Why is it better to go all out. They gave proper effort and tried to win the game, but they were never going to put everything on the line for that game. It would make no sense to do so. They played it as it should have been played and are now ready for the playoffs. Bitching about Forte not running more yesterday just doesn't make sense. Ok. You don't want to understand my point. I don't feel like beating my head against a wall.

    He got 15 carries, I'm really not sure what you're complaining about. Basically, I'm saying either [expletive] or get off the pot. If the Bears were going to play Forte, and he's the only part of the offense that's working, why didn't he get more carries? If you're trying to win, he was your best option. If you're not trying to win, hey...I get that...but then why put him in at all? Basically I don't like the middle ground of "we're going to play him, but only a little."

    Running the football is probably the riskiest thing you can do from a health standpoint. I'm very happy they limited Forte's carries. But he still got it 15 times. Riskier than dropping back the QB and letting him get sacked 6 times? If limiting injury was the point, then put in backups. Yes, running the ball is a greater injury risk than a QB taking sacks. That mileage takes a toll on a back, and with Forte already going through that rookie year he had any chance the Bears can take to limit his touches is a good thing for his future, and theirs. That's both in terms of near term and future. Then I just don't understand why you play him at all. Activate Bell and let him get some carries.

    Yeah...I have no issues with the NFL cap. Just tweak rookie pools and IR.

    How many times did they fail to stop a 4 man rush? Seemed like just about every sack was a blitz...they blitzed a ton.

    I think I want New Orleans, but then that means that GB will have won. Which I don't want. So I guess I'm pulling for a Bears-Eagles rematch.

    GB tipped or knocked down a lot of those short passes. GB played very good D yesterday, no doubt. That said, I think if we'd run the ball more, like he have in just about every other week since the bye, it may have changed things. But anybody can play the "what if" game. If Chi-GB meets in the NFCC game, I think it's safe to say it could go either way. I think these two teams have seen enough of each other that they have each others numbers. Neither of these teams are gonna blow out the other.

    It was maddening that the Bears weren't running the ball more. Forte was the only player on the offense that really was doing anything positive the whole game. Maybe that was the point? Try to get the passing game on track since the running game is already there? I dunno...but if you're trying to win that game, you run. Bears are now 0-5 in exhibition games this year. Hilarious that all season we get the "Bears are lucky", "Bears haven't played anyone", "Bears aren't a real threat" kind of stuff from the national media, and after a loss in a game that meant nothing, the Bears are getting some nice press because they played hard against the Packers in a meaningless loss. I mean...I was impressed. I thought the Bears really should play this game hard because of the bye week coming....I didn't want them to take it easy for 2 weeks. But I never thought that Lovie would have the guts to do it. It's gonna be a long 2 weeks. Please Bears...don't be one and done. I want more Bears football.

    I definitely read it as a shot at Turner. I always thought Lloyd looked good in the preseason...was always surprised he didn't really get a shot.
