  1. Well crap.
  2. Here's the thread: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/topic?f=44&t=58319& But I think this summarizes it best. You're right. I'm not. Because I know in my heart the Packers are the superior team. At the end of the season the records will prove it. You can imagine the 10 or so pages that followed.
  3. I pretty much said that the Packers lost that game instead of the Bears winning because of the 6,000 penalty yards and the Bears could only still squeak out a 3-point win in the final minute. Everyone got all butthurt about it even though if the situation would have been reversed there would have been a few that felt the same way I did. The end. (prepares for the inevitable flamewar) That's a poor summary.
  4. Some pretty good analysis about what the Bears offense has done better in the 2nd half... http://seahawks.sportspressnw.com/2011/01/09/bears-ready-for-rematch-with-improved-offense/
  5. Fair enough then. If we're gonna get a receiver, I want a guy (preferably a big guy) that will go up and fight for it. I just didn't know much about Baldwin other than seeing him on the potential 1st round WR lists.
  6. Why are you guys so down on Baldwin?
  7. Experts love to hate Jay Cutler.
  8. The first round WR selection isn't look as deep with Floyd staying in school, and Blackmon possibly too.
  9. Finally found somewhere with his touchback stats.... http://dallasnews.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=7520&team=3 He's got like double the touchbacks of last year, but his average distance last year was like half a yard more. Weird.
  10. Safety has been a weakness for so long...it's been nice this season not having to beat those guys up after each and every game.
  11. I'm trying to figure what they meant "excellent placement".
  12. Atlanta is 2.5 point favorites. That's up...I think they opened as 1 point favs.
  13. Looks like more Raiders got their contracts voided... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/01/12/nnamdi-asomugha-wasnt-the-only-raider-to-have-his-contract-voided/
  14. I'm ok with not drafting OL in the first round. Unlike raw, I'd like to go WR in the first round actually. But I think Jerry can address OL in the middle rounds and FA. Depending on the labor situation of course.
  15. God's favorite team. Certainly the national media's favorite. No NFC East teams left to fawn over.
  16. It was mentioned. Andy was pretty unimpressed. I think it's a good hire, but Rivera's gonna have a rough go of it there I think. Not because of his coaching skills, but because I don't think Carolina has a lot to work with.
  17. They have Starks and have no running game. Or are we now counting 1 good game as the gospel? Amen. I'm amazed how many NFL experts think that the Pack have a running game based on that one game.
  18. Fun Fact! Our backup QB has started more playoff games than our starting QB....1 game. Collins started one playoff for the Redskins and lost....to the Seahawks. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200801050sea.htm
  19. Apparently the Bears originally had planned to take James Starks instead of LeFevour. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/bears-told-packers-rb-starks-they-were-drafting-him.html
  20. The coaches are supposed to vote for the BCS title game winner, but this isn't the first time there's been a defection or two. I believe Boise State got a couple of rebel votes after the 06 season as well. FWIW, both Chris Petersen and Kyle Whittingham got votes in the coaches poll. Nobody knows yet who the "rebel coach" was though.
  21. Or by Weighted DVOA: AFC: New York Jets (7) vs. New England Patriots (1) Baltimore Ravens (3) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (2) NFC: Green Bay Packers (4) vs. Atlanta Falcons (9) Seattle Seahawks (31) vs. Chicago Bears (11)
  22. Well no...it's not ridiculous. We'd all prefer to work where we could make a ton of money. But it may not be especially realistic.
  23. Would you still think that seeding isn't an issue?
  24. i can't really think of two teams that have committed more resources towards their CBs, really weird preferences Why not prefer teams that pay cornerbacks? Because they likely have less money to pay a cornerback at this point, because they already have so much money tied up in that position.
