  1. This site is doing a pretty good job of keep up on the reports from the senior bowl practices... http://www.draftinsider.net/
  2. Sorry, thought I posted the link... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/nfl/01/24/senior.bowl.monday/index.html?xid=cnnbin&hpt=Sbin
  3. From Walterfootball.com:
  4. Great point by someone emailing Peter King:
  5. Some comments on notable performances from Mondays senior bowl practice:
  6. Nobody even knows if the salary cap will be the same until there's a new CBA. So...no. Where were we in regards to the old cap? This was an uncapped year. There's really no way to answer your question... Here's the team by team payroll as of September. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/19/team-by-team-salary-cap-numbers-if-there-were-a-salary-cap/
  7. Nobody even knows if the salary cap will be the same until there's a new CBA. So...no.
  8. Last time we went through this, Paul Tagliabue managed to talk the owners into a deal. It will be interesting to see if Goodell can do something like that.
  9. That's why the players did all those decertification votes. My understanding (and I'm not an expert on labor law) is that if the union decertifies, it prevents the owners from being able to lockout somehow. Thus it gives the players some more leverage.
  10. Bears sign 6 practice squad guys to futures contracts... http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/bears-sign-six-players-to-futures-contracts.html
  11. This is from a Dan Pompei article last week: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0119-pompei-bears-chicago--20110118,0,2269375.column
  12. As part of the deal, the Cubs should have given him a couple more vowels for his last name. And thus ends my once annual visit to the minor league forum.
  13. Lets see what happens as the offseason gets underway. Jerry makes those decisions. I'm sure Lovie gets a lot of input, but I don't think Lovie really has to worry about payroll the same way Jerry does. Lovie tends to get what Lovie wants. With the way Tommie finished the season, I wouldnt mind giving him a short incentive laden contract to see if he is for real. Even at 90% of 2005 Tommie, he would be the best interior DL we currently have. The problem is that Tommie is still under contract. He's due a $2.5 million roster bonus in June.

  15. Now the timing for bringing in Hanie makes much, much more sense. What the [expletive] were Pam Oliver and Chris Myers doing on Sunday? Makes Lovie look dumber though....cuz that means he didn't pull Collins because he sucked...he pulled Collins cuz he had no choice.
  16. You know, when he was walking off, I thought he looked like he was holding his arm like he was injured.... Now the timing for bringing in Hanie makes much, much more sense.
  17. http://www.suntimes.com/3473075-417/tie-stone-bears-customers-john.html
  18. They're paying Hester an awful lot of money to be just a returner though. But hey...I guess that's the price of having a historically good return man.
  19. Well there's a fair number of bitter Seahawks in there I suspect.
  20. One common theme in all of that: All the current players who said something played on [expletive] teams from [expletive] NFC West. Jealous ass bitches, all of them. Seriously who the [expletive] are those guys anyways? Well to be fair, that was pasted from the NFC West blog. That's why some other comments MJD aren't on there.
  21. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/why-jay-cutler-quitting-on-chicago-bears-makes-us-so-livid-012411 So now you're mad at Cutler because he doesn't look like he's having as much fun as you would have playing out there? How can you actually write this garbage, much less proof read it, present it to an editor, having him proof read, without realizing how dumb it sounds? Nice job changing the story after the fact there Whitlock.
  22. Man I'm a sore loser. I just hate everybody today.
  23. Instead of getting pissy with me, why don't you go look up Asante Samuel on Twitter and be ignorant to him? Haha, I'M getting pissy. I'd rather get pissy then get pissed on Why the hell are those the choices? I'll take option c.
  24. Angelo signed Thomas Jones too, right? He also traded him for what, a 5th round draft choice? Well fine, but the discussion is about Angelo and his free agent signings. The point being that he's signed some good FA's in seasons past. It says he "plays the FA/Trade market about as well as any other GM." If you followed the conversation prior to that, it was meant in regard to bringing people in. And like UM pointed out, it wasn't Jones for a 5th.
