  1. Oh, yeah....with Rose and Howard and others on that team, yeah....I could see that being a lot closer.
  2. lol @ Kobe saying that this years team is better than the Dream Team. He got Barkley and Jordan going...
  3. I dunno, I don't think a whole lot more people would be watching ballgames because of that though.
  4. The whole point of the way the contract is structured is that the Bulls aren't allowed to pay Asik more than 5 million for the first two years since he doesn't have full bird rights, and the Bulls are not over the cap. This exception they've built into the rule gives the Bulls a chance to match if they want. I think if the Rockets actually got him, for salary cap purposes his money would be evenly distributed. But the Bulls aren't allowed to sign him to a contract with this total value that is evenly distributed because he would make too much money in year 1. Gotcha, thanks. That clears a lot up.
  5. Ok, so Asik hasn't yet signed his offer sheet with the Rockets cuz they have to wait for ppl to pass physicals in the Camby trade. Wouldn't it make sense for Garpax to go to Asik and say "Hey, we wanna match. But we can't do it with the poison pill. Let us draw up a deal with the same money over the same time, evenly distributed and we can bring you back." Is there a reason Omer would turn this down?
  6. I love how the Nets act like the Magic were just being unreasonable....and not that they were offering a garbage package.
  7. And Noah, to free up room for Asik.
  8. He can be as unhappy as he wants. They can't trade him until at least January cuz of his new deal.
  9. That's why we're bringing back Asik. His 3-point prowess. In all seriousness, losing Korver is gonna hurt.
  10. I wonder if his deal was structured such that he had to be called up or released by a certain date?
  11. But re-signing Omer and Taj might prohibit signing a 2014 FA. True, it'd probably push a big FA back to 2015, unless there's a trade at some point.
  12. Gah, just hit the wrong thing and deleted my post. Essentially though, I don't necessarily think it prohibits re-signing Taj. Deng's contract will be up by the time Asik's big year comes around, and I'm not sure what the Bulls intend to do there. Also, that will be the last year of Boozer's deal, and he'll surely be amnestied. I wouldn't match Asik, but I don't necessarily think it's total disaster. I sure do hope that a non-lockout offseason can help Omer's offense.
  13. You and cubbievirus both. You guys should hang out with Rosenbloom. http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery/71005562/Sports/Rosenbloom-Bulls-don-t-know-what-they-re-doing
  14. I wonder how much Theo is actually involved in that? Is it like a "Co-GM" situation? Or do they just meet about things and then Theo lets Jed actually do the trade haggling? Does Jed have to run a big trade through Theo first? Just curious about the logistics.
  15. Houston sure does like to do poison pill offer sheets. First Asik, and then Lin.
  16. Maybe this is something I should have known, and I'm sure may of you probably do already know this, but I just found out that the Los Angeles Angels played in a ballpark in LA called Wrigley Field, and that it was named that a year before Cubs Park was renamed Wrigley Field.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrigley_Field_(Los_Angeles)
  17. Sounds like a good deal for the Lakers. :)
  18. So you just want movement for the sake of something new. Can't resign Gibson with the contracts currently on the books if you wanted to. Oh and he's also the MVP of our trade targets because Deng and Noah have horrible contracts. Bottom line, Paxton falls in love with his 'core' to the detriment of this franchise. You mean the same core that had the best record in the NBA the last two years? Doesn't matter, man. They didn't win the championship so they suck.
  19. Fair enough. http://mlkshk.com/r/1E8J
  20. Which is a damn shame since its the most interesting part of the boards. Different strokes for different folks.
  21. I don't know what this phrase means.
  22. I just don't know why other teams would help the Nets out with this.
