  1. Possible 4 team deal to get Howard to the Nets....
  2. What year is it?
  3. I didn't know that Reed Johnson was doing so awesome to be worth bumping a 6 month old thread for an "I told you so". What are we getting for him at the trade deadline?
  4. So you just want movement for the sake of something new.
  5. I think you forgot something.
  6. Couldn't they do the same thing with JL3?
  7. http://deadspin.com/5924416/what-happens-when-espn-accidentally-allows-write+in-votes-on-a-facebook-poll I demand that Brian Scalabrine be allowed to participate.
  8. Doesn't surprise me. That was probably the nastiest pitch of the game. Would've probably been a good idea to mention something after the game though.
  9. Kerry Wood felt "something" in his elbow on the final pitch of the 20k game.... http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/07/kerry-wood-says-he-felt-something-in-elbow-during-20-strikeout-game/
  10. Haha....no phones at the ballgames, ppl. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/08/instant-karma-fan-smacked-by-foul-ball-while-messing-with-his-phone/
  11. I think Castro is fighting the same thing Cutler fights...the optics. You hear people talk about their mannerisms and how they appear disinterested. Somehow, for many, that overshadows the pure talent.
  12. KC Johnson thinks that with the Bulls getting Hinrich, they'll now possibly match Asik.
  13. Winning the World Series is our New Year's Rizzolution.
  14. ..... I'm saddened I had to have to have that dumbed down for me.
  15. Garpax have been awful for years too Oh for pete's sake. http://www.ualrtrojans.com/fls/7400/virtualguide/men/img/pros/pete-myers.jpg Wait, I'm confused. What does Garpax have to do with Pete Myers?
  16. Garpax have been awful for years too Oh for pete's sake.
  17. Oh man, I haven't heard this yet. Have you heard this, or just anticipating it?
  18. It's also just possible that Noah is using this as a way to get out of doing the Olympics. It might just be something he wasn't all that keen on to begin with. *shrug* It was the playoffs and he wanted to try to play. It was an ankle sprain. What was the harm in giving it a go?
  19. How about instead of calling him "ok" I call him "good, but uninspiring". Will that offend less?
  20. I'm not trolling at all. I think QB rating is a pretty poor example when it puts Tony Romo as the 2nd best active QB in football. I'm just not taking it all that seriously because I really don't think it's all that serious of a debate...being so subjective and all, but ok. Eli Manning's career QB rating is 82.1. Do you think Romo is a far better QB than Eli? That's a 15 point difference. Career QB rating is going to be friendlier to QB's that had strong early years. Does that tell us much in a debate over who the good QB's are now? The "Best QB" debate is still super subjective obviously, because it's such a team sport. I think the Cowboys have had a ton of resources put into their offense that have benefited them. Romo had a nice cushion having TO still being an awesome receiver when he first came up. Romo puts up decent numbers, but I just don't think he's all that impressive. Sorry if that stuns or boggles.
  21. He's done "ok?" Seriously? Given the talent he's been surrounded by, he sure could have done a hell of a lot better. I'm kind of a passive observer here, but your're laying on the Romo love a bit heavy. By saying that he's better than Jay Cutler and by saying that a guy who has a CAREER QB rating of 97 (flawed stat or no, that is an indication of damn good performance) has been better than OK? lol. He's better than Tom Brady! (Career QB rating of 96.4) He's only behind Aaron Rodgers. Since we're arguing with admittedly flawed stats, I'm going to submit a Sportsnation poll. http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/7932812/tony-romo-top-five-qb 41% have him in the top half, and not the top 10. Though it's a reasonably close poll. So there's obviously a lot of dispute on the topic. It's at the very least, not as clear cut as you believe it is, for a lot of us. I couldn't find a sportsnation poll on Jay.
  22. Thanks. I was wonder why we suddenly love Romo. Because he's really, really good? WTH And he's definitely better than Cutler. What is this??? I don't even.... Romo is really, really overrated. Seriously, he's done ok with a ton of resources. Yayyy.
  23. Not that it was ever realistic, but no Nash for the Bulls.
  24. I was listening to Doug Thonus' Bulls podcast this week (pretty good listen most weeks) and he was talking about how the Bulls were the most profitable sports team in the US, and possibly the world (he could only back up the US claim not the world). I don't think these were exact numbers, but he was saying the average NBA team spends about 75% of what it gets back on the team and the Bulls are closer to 40%. If the Bulls went 10-15 million into the luxury tax they'd only be the 3rd most profitable team in basketball instead of by far the most. And its been this way for years, even in the lean years when we paid to watch Corey Benjamin and Ron Mercer. Anyways, not really a direct response to your post because I can understand not wanting to pay a still productive player to not play for you over the next 3 seasons, but I can't understand not being willing to use the full MLE or whatever it is they have this year to retain key members of their bench (for one season) and/or improving (or at least stabalizing) the team. I know the Bulls have gotten lucky twice now, with MJ and now D-Rose, but they still have been pretty damn amazing at being able to have the success they have with that level of frugality.
