  2. This year? Not very likely. For 2014? I could see them doing it. Yeah, there's so little to be gained by amnestying him this year.
  3. Thanks. I was wonder why we suddenly love Romo.
  4. I don't know how the numbers would work out, and I'm not a salary cap guru, but if you lose Noah and Gibson, you ought to be able to keep Asik alongside Howard, right? Presuming this all happened fast enough.
  5. Also, was Stafford's big year because of Johnson's big year, or vice versa? I think Stafford's a nice QB, but he has plenty more to prove.
  6. Exactly. If we'd done this deal when Deng was healthy and playing well, then yeah...sure. But at this point he's playing hurt through the olympics and talking about not having surgery at all. Nobody knows what to expect from the guy.
  7. Lost draft picks as well.
  8. That's a big gamble. You'd have to trade Noah, and probably Taj, plus picks, and you don't know if you get to keep Howard. And why would we want to take on the "Trade Dwight" drama? He'll still only want to go to certain places. It's just a mess I don't think the Bulls want anything to do with without an extension.
  9. I'd like to see them jump into the Howard sweepstakes. If the Nets get Deron Williams, they won't have room for Dwight unless they gut their entire roster which leaves them with D League fodder on the bench. This is obviously contingent on ORL accepting the deal. The Nets are apprehensive about doing that, so that would leave Dwight in the cold with no teams on his "list." The Bulls can jump into the fold and offer an attractive package while perhaps recruiting Derrick to help make a pitch for them. I think this is very doable, but from what I gather management and Derrick are unwilling to employ the necessary strategy to get him. They seem to think like they can win as is. Howard has made abundantly clear that he wants nothing to do with Chicago. It's really time to let go. Maybe we should have a group therapy session on the issue.
  10. Culter #8 on Jaws' countdown. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id/43406/jaws-qb-countdown-jay-cutler-no-8
  11. Liar. With a ridiculous attitude like this, where being the GD #1 seed is considered losing, there is no way you would be happy about just making it to the finals. So if the Bulls make the 7th or 8th seed this year and are swept out of the first round, is it a successful winning season? We aren't talking about mythical scenarios you're making up. We're talking about two seasons of the best record in the league that you say are "losing". They're not...either technically or by any sane objective measure.
  12. They key phrase is "better team." It was doubted by the most professional of opinions that the Bulls could even beat the heat in an ECF scenario. The Bulls success last year was hinging on Rip and Rose being able to stay healthy because they were hurt many times during the season. They weren't a clear favorite, so sitting here and blaming everything due to Rose being hurt is silly. Even if he wasn't hurt you're assuming he'll come in after said injuries and play at MVP caliber. As we saw, the Heat were a better team their second time around and the jury was out on the Bulls being better then the previous year. The Heat went to 7 games in the ECF against the freaking Celtics and nearly lost. Nobody knows what would've happened if the Bulls had been healthy. Neither you or "the most professional of opinions", whatever that means.
  13. This post makes less than zero sense. The Bulls and Cubs are losing every single year. It's not that hard to figure out. Perhaps Nuts definition of winning is making it the playoffs and miserably failing, or coming close every single game yet still losing the series? My definition of winning is making it to the Finals and ultimately winning. Hell I'd be happy about just making it TO the Finals. The Bulls have stood pat last off season and they look to be standing pat this off-season for the most part. That is unacceptable. The team has had the best winning percentage in the league for two years running. For you to call that losing is ridiculous. You may have your own definition of winning, but it's still nonsensical. Standing pat this past offseason wasn't why the Bulls "lost". It was because of injuries.
  14. For 2012-2013, I doubt it.
  15. This post makes less than zero sense.
  16. At this point I think it's probably safe to quit fantasizing about Howard on the Bulls.
  17. Oh sweet jesus. Fisher? Really?
  18. I got that from ESPN. Broussard works for ESPN right? Maybe I heard that before Broussard chimed in and *gasp* ESPN was actually wrong about something?
  19. Not sure if anyone else cares, but there are two more posts about the Bears on this blog. The first one still about the D, and the second one comparing Cutler and Hanie. http://www.raiders1.ninjagoro.com/statistics/nfc-north-defense-chicago-bears-part-2-splits/ http://www.raiders1.ninjagoro.com/statistics/nfc-north-defense-chicago-bears-part-3-cutler-hanie/
  20. Amnesty is only for people that were already signed when the CBA was signed, if I recall correctly.
  21. Ugh. We probably shouldn't match, but the backup center spots are really not appealing. Make Taj the backup C?
