  1. The NBA won't let Rose wear the medical tape on his neck anymore due to the dress code. http://nba.si.com/2013/11/06/derrick-rose-neck-tape-nba/
  2. If they do, I don't have em. I'm getting these each week from reddit.
  3. Yeah, that chart would be almost more interesting. How closely regular season success translates to postseason success in each sport.

  5. Mike North owned a hot dog stand and turned it into a hugely successful radio gig and a freaking morning show on CSN. Holy [expletive], Mike North; you want to talk about blacking out a terrible memory. That guy was such a gigantic sports media presence here and now he's basically just gone...it's so wonderful. He still subs on Fox Sports evening radio sometimes. He's as terrible as ever. Man, I don't even know what station that is, thankfully. And Murph basically being gone, too. I remember when I was growing up and we'd come back here to visit family my dad would want the Score on constantly and seemed like these two Mike idiots were just ruling that station from morning until night; it was a nightmare. And then ESPN unleashes Mike & Mike...KEEP MIKES OFF OF THE RADIO. I can't get the Score on my car radio at night here...so some nights I'll turn on the local sports radio station here, which happens to carry Fox Sports radio when there's not a local game on, and so I've heard North a couple times. Apparently you can still hear Mike Murphy during the baseball season... http://espn.go.com/chicago/radio/show?showId=murphandfred

  8. Kaplan anchors the coverage of any Cubs news events that might otherwise be fun or interesting to watch. Theo hired? Kaplan. Manager hired? Kaplan. Ricketts have something to say? Kaplan.
  9. They hate the callers but Matty looks for the meatballs and puts them on. Oh of course, and Bernstein loves it. He enjoys screaming over people. But that's just it. Meatball callers can be fun to laugh at, but they aren't even fun to laugh at the way that Dan does it. It's just him screaming and not letting them say more than one or two words before screaming again. I usually listen to something else when it comes to taking callers. I'm sure I miss some occasionally decent radio that way, but I can deal with that.
  10. Twitter = spoilers. If there's something...anything you don't want to be spoiled about, ignore/turn off twitter. It's never, ever not going to be that way.
  11. Yeah. B&B should take it one step further and ban callers from the show entirely.
  12. I'm annoyed that I used to actually like Kaplan when he and Waddle did the show on WGN radio. I'm not going to claim I'm a sports genius now, but [expletive] hell was I a dumb sports fan back then.
  13. I'm great with Peanut as a safety. Less enthused about Frey as CB. An early round CB to replace Tillman would be my choice.
  14. I just wasn't a sports fan kid. My parents only were Cubs fans because my neighbor was such a huge Cubs fan that he got us to be fans. I got into the Bulls during the first championship run....the Cubs in the mid 90's...even the Bears I was really only casual on until the Urlacher draft.
  15. Speaking of PFF grades... http://i.imgur.com/UjJDh1j.jpg
  16. Hahaha, love it. And PFF graded him negatively.
  17. Apparently, eh? Reading is hard.
  18. Apparently Gammons says the Cubs will make an announcement tomorrow.
  19. I hate Rozner way worse than I hate Kaplan. WAY worse. Even Wittenmyer thought Rozner's take on the situation (that this is all a big embarrassing mess and makes the FO look bad because Renteria has been the guy all along) was irrational. That's exactly what Rozner was saying. The sadness in Rozner's voice about the Cubs not getting Ausmus nearly made me laugh out loud. He spent the whole show lamenting the entire mess, took callers hating on Theo, and then at the end threw in "But I think Theo will ultimate find success here."
  20. How does somebody get into baseball late? If I wasn't obsessed with baseball as a kid in the 80s I probably never would have paid attention in my teens. I didn't care at all about sports until the rumors of Jordan coming back in spring of 95 got me amped up to watch the Bulls. The game he came back against the Pacers was the first sporting event I really watched and was interested in watching (I remember other games being on in the house but I didn't care all that much). That was when I was 12. Then the Bulls' season ended and the Cubs were having an OK year and the 95 season sucked me into baseball. Football was next that fall, with Kramer having that huge year throwing to Conway and Graham. I don't know which is more weird, getting into baseball late or being drawn into the Cubs during the mid-90s. Well the 95 team was in the wild card race until the last weekend...and then a couple years later the whole Wood and Sosa thing in 98 probably helped reel me in for good. Yeah, I loved the Cubs as a kid because I was taught to, but it wasn't really something that I decided to get into until the mid-90's and Sosa.
  21. Barry Rozner is filling in on the radio this morning for Mike Mulligan on the Score, and man has he been insufferable about this Cubs manager search this morning. And they're taking every meatball anti-Theo call.

  25. Yeah, but he's a 5th round rookie starting at RT next to another rookie. He has his highs and lows...and overall has been better than I expected. He's showing enough to make me think there's reason to think he'll get a lot better there.
