  1. It's a horsefeathering plane ride. The players are off for days after a Thursday game. Well, it happens rarely enough (if ever) to garner criticism. If this happened all the time after Thursday games, there wouldn't be a stink about it If the coach of a winning team did it and wasn't caught on video messing with a woman that wasn't his wife we wouldn't even know about it.
  2. It's a Thursday night game so to me him staying back an extra day or two isn't an issue. It's what he was doing that is the problem. He's the head freaking coach. It's absolutely a problem for him to peace out on the team. It's a horsefeathering plane ride. The players are off for days after a Thursday game.

  4. a horsefeathering return man? Is that really what this team was missing? I guess they don't want Herbert doing it anymore since Monty & Cohen are out but this is ridiculous. Grant is a FA after this season too.
  5. We are trading a 6th round 2023 pick to Miami for WR Jakeem Grant?
  6. How confident are you in Dalton against the Raiders D?
  7. TAMU seems to specialize in doing less with more than any other program in the conference. I just looked it up and right now on the roster TAMU has 10 four-star OL and 2 five-star OL. For comparison, Ole Miss has 0 four-star OL and 0 five-star OL. For further comparison with another school that has a similar "budget", Bama has 8 four-star OL and 3 five-star OL. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. I know we have some key injuries including yet another Matthews brother but we should have more than enough talent to field at least a pretty good line right now. And as much as I hate to say it, you are spot on with the "doing less with more" assessment. It's nothing new, either.
  8. Why can't he retire before the playoffs? While he's at it can he take Angel Hernandez with him?
  9. Don't have a good feeling about this one.
  10. Calzada probably needs to transfer to an FCS school. Not sure how much longer Haynes King is out or even if he's a legit SEC player but this season is already lost. Still can't get over how atrocious our OL has been. A complete failure by Jimbo and the staff.
  11. I think you guys were in the top 10 when they made that call. Alas. Maybe the pregame atmosphere could be fun, though. It was announced after Arkansas manhandled us which dropped us to 15. I'm sure they didn't expect us to lose at home to Mississippi State but anyone paying attention should have been able to see it won't be a good game.
  12. Dalton better not start again if Fields is healthy.
  13. No idea why CBS decided to put A&M-Alabama in prime time. That’s going to be an ass whipping. Glad I have a concert to go to so I won’t even be tempted to watch that murder porn.
  14. Caleb Hanie
  15. I guess I'm just dumb enough to stick with "my" teams no matter how horsefeathers they are so I wouldn't really give a new team a chance. I'm not gonna flip allegiances, but I go to as many Sox games as Cubs games since they're convenient and cheap as opposed to inconvenient and expenaive. It doesn't immediately need 2M die hard fans to be viable. I don't live in the area anymore but when I did I would go to maybe 2-3 Sox games a year. When I was in school it was because we got free tickets for straight A's & perfect attendance. As I got older I went with friends who were Sox fans. But I always chose to go when there was a visiting team/player in town I wanted to see. Then again, I'm not a huge fan of attending NFL games in person anyway. To me they are more enjoyable watching at home. It's the only league where I feel that way.
  16. After all the bitching about how you can’t be a Cubs and White Sox fan for decades, it would be hard to draw a dedicated fanbase. Then again if the Bears continue to flounder and can’t build a modern NFL offense and this new team can, there’s a slight chance. I guess I'm just dumb enough to stick with "my" teams no matter how shitty they are so I wouldn't really give a new team a chance.
  17. I couldn't imagine being interested in the Chicago Jaguars or some other franchise that moved to Chicago. Maybe if it was an expansion team but even then I doubt it.
  18. Maybe not as a competitive advantage (though I'm sure there are idiots who believe in that), but I've seen more than a few people saying that Bears football needs to be played outdoors and not some sissy climate controlled dome I'm not saying playing indoors is "sissy" or anything ignorant like that. I just like seeing football played in the snow at times. I've been to games in the snow and it's an experience. I admit I'd be disappointed if the Bears played home games inside.
  19. What blows my mind in reading about this is that the Soldier Field renovations cost $690MM. That seems like way too much for the end result.
  20. Trubisky not being the long term answer and Nagy consistently refusing to put together a game plan to play to Trubisky’s strengths can both be true. And quite likely was. Completely agree
  21. I definitely think Nagy didn't do Mitch any favors for sure but Trubisky had consistent footwork problems and showed poor decision making skills over multiple seasons. Can some of that be blamed on coaching? I'm sure but I think we saw enough of Mitch to know he wasn't the answer long term.
  22. This is exactly why Nagy should be gone today. He saw his Oline getting torched and did absolutely nothing to help them. If I wasn't so sure he was merely incompetent, I would think it was an intentional sabotage job. He only called one play that I can remember to move Fields out of the pocket. It was mind blowing how bad the play calling was and we've seen many examples of bad Nagy play calling over the years.
  23. Pace & Nagy both need to be gone but the Bears have never fired a GM or coach in season, right? I'm just hopeful they finally cut ties with Dumb & Dumber this off-season.
  24. Dan Orlovsky, Ryan Clark, and Rex Ryan just absolutely shredded Nagy on ESPN this morning with Orlovsky calling for him to be fired today. I thought I was pissed yesterday but these guys were more upset than me. Ryan Clark even joked that it's weird for him to be the nice one on that set. That's how fired up the other two were. My only issue with this and most every other Bears story I've seen is that very few people are ripping Pace like he deserves. We've spent so much money and roster space on TE's that we don't even attempt to use while the OL is a complete horsefeathers show.
  25. That was unbelievable. I’m in a survivor pool that started with over 1,000 people at $100/entry and 82 people had Baltimore today. I can only imagine what those people were thinking at that moment.
