  1. You know things are real bad when we are agreeing with that ass clown Jay Mariotti. :(
  2. So, how 'bout that Jacque Jones? He's really something, huh?
  3. [expletive] moron. Excuse the French.
  4. If that dumbass Jones is still going to play RF, then we need someone who can actually hit a left-handed pitcher to platoon with him. Pagan might not be the ideal choice, but who else can fill that role on this roster?
  5. Count my vote as "no". At least not until DLee comes back.
  6. I was just going to ask the same question. :!:
  7. Can we trade him to Baltimore for Corey Patterson?
  8. It has nothing to do with showing emotion (or not) it has to do with him being out of control. It's undenialable that when something bad occurs he starts walking people and gets out of his game. Conversely, Maddux will have a fit on the mound when he gives up a big hit but he bears down ont he next batter. Z hasn't learned to do that! Ding! Ding! Ding!
  9. I can't wait to relive the 2003 NLCS again. :x :x :x :x :x
  10. Zambrano needs to pull his head out of his ass, and quick. :x
  11. Cubs! Woo! Win! Woo! Cubs! Woo! Win! Woo! http://ephemeraleuphoria.com/pictures/WrigleyRonnieWooWoo.jpg
  12. I was too young to remember it when it happened, but I have heard the story before. It is a great one.
  13. This whole situation just sucks. New year, same old depressing story. My dad turns 75 in a few weeks and has been a die-hard Cubs fan for over 50 years. It pains me to know that he never expects to see the Cubs win the World Series in his lifetime. I'm 32 and almost to the point of believeing that the Cubs won't win the World Series before I die. There are days I wish I could just walk away and be done with MLB, but I can't do it. So I will continue to be disappointed by my Cubbies year after year after year. Maybe one day our loyalty will be rewarded. :(
  14. This is interesting. I know some people from Dallas and they absolutely love Cuban. I guess they haven't battled back and forth with him, though. My feelings have nothing to do with our e-mails. He does create a lot of excitement, but he doesn't get results. The Cubs don't need hype, they need production. Again.. How is it hype and not production? Is your only measure of success a championship or something? Why the hell do you play the games? They don't give out rings for regular season wins, do they? That's a valid point... but I just don't see how a great season is invalidated by 4 bad games... But that's just me. Expecting a championship is asking an awful lot, IMHO. If it happens for your team, great...But only one out of 30-some-odd teams does that each year. I don't disagree, but I want to see the Cubs win it all. I don't think Mark Cuban will ever get the Mavs to the NBA title, but that's just my opinion. Well, it looks like I made a splash here on my first night of posting. I guess I'll be spewing my craqzy thoughts more often now. Beware, my friends. Beware.

  16. Those Mavericks sure have been a wreck since he took over, haven't they? What the hell have they won? They've made it to the Western Conference Finals ONCE, and then only because Sacramento had some serious injury problems. For all the wins they've racked up, they haven't even sniffed a title yet and won't anytime soon. Great call letting Steve Nash walk away for nothing, huh? I consider the playoffs in any sport to be a crapshoot. Sure, the Mavs could have a better playoff record, but I'd give up an eye to have the Cubs among the best teams in baseball every year. A team that wins 70% of its games is hardly unsuccessful. It's a lot less of a crap shoot in the NBA, IMO. Just ask MJ and Scottie. The Mavs have become the Colts of the NBA. Great regular seasons with zero playoff results. I don't want that for the Cubs, but that's just my opinion.

  18. I'd say the Tribune Company. They have been willing to spend money, just not go overboard like Steinbrenner does. And they stay out of the baseball decisions. Cuban is a great PR man and businessman. He is not a great GM.
  19. I'm hopeful, but I agree. Others are going to have to pick up the slack. Aramis, Murton, Barrett, etc. are really going to have to play huge.
  20. :?John Blutoski Animal House Blutoski? It's Belushi. The character's name was Blutarsky.
  21. What's wrong with Cuban, and is it so bad that his bank account can't compensate for it? He fancies himself a GM, which he is not. If he were to stay 100% out of all personnel decisions, then I would be OK with it. And despite what his public image is, he doesn't really care about the average fan. I've had a few e-mail "battles" back and forth with him on the issue. Please explain what over. This is very interesting. It started off over ticket prices when I tried to buy tickets when the Bulls were in town. I was surprised to get a response, but I wasn't satisfied with what he said, so I called him on it. We went back and forth for about a week. He's two-faced, not to mention cross-eyed.

  23. Wanting Cuban in on personnel decisions would be a worse decision than trading Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio.

  25. Exactly, but I have faith in Ronny.
