    Who do you want in CF? At this point, JJ is a better option that Pie. I'd rather see Theriot too, but not having them in there isn't going to cost the Cubs the game. If Pie isn't going to start EVERY day, then he should be sent to Iowa where he can play every day. He's not going to start hitting better by sitting on the bench. And his defense in CF makes up for his lack of offense right now, IMO.

    you're kidding yourself. Pitchers make the ultimate call on the pitches they throw. As such, they are responsible! I never said that the pitcher wasn't ultimately responsible. Why do you think guys like Greg Maddux always liked to have a personal catcher? None of Maddux's personal catchers are headed to the HoF Who said they were?

    I'm not a stat freak like some of you are, but I bet if you go back over the past few seasons and look at ERA's when Blanco is catching vs when Barrett is catching, you will notice a marked difference.

    Anyone who doesn't believe that catchers can have a huge impact on how a pitcher performs is kidding themselves.

    Jones in center, Floyd in right, Izturis at SS, and no Theriot? Does he want to lose? It's the beginning of May. No one, save for maybe Barrett or Soriano, should need a day off right now. Especially with all the ones we've already had.

    Jacque Jones sucks. Pie would have caught the ball that turned into the leadoff triple and he wouldn't have had to make a diving catch on that last one.

    My biggest problem with the original post was that it still had Wade Miller in the rotation. Any one of us would probably be an upgrade at this point.

    Are you seriously suggesting DLee as a leadoff hitter? You might want to lay off the meth. I like the lineup posted by the thread starter, except I would flip Theriot and Murton.
