  1. Seriously? Yes, seriously. The Cubs without Wrigley Field just wouldn't be the Cubs to me.
  2. Now you feel my pain. Try living in Texas and having to put up with that crap. They have a hard on for the Cubs for some reason. They love to throw all the "Anyone can have a bad century" crap and Bartman this, choke that sh*t in my face. Meanwhile, their trophy case is completely empty. I really almost hate them more than Cards and Sox fans now.
  3. The Cubs better win the World Series before they tear down Wrigley. If they ever move out of there, it might just cause me to stop caring.
  4. :yahoo: \:D/ =D> :clapping: :good: :amen:
  5. Ugh. Brenly sucks.
  6. I hope I get the WGN broadcast, but if not I'm sure I'll be able to catch the Astros broadcast on an alternate FoxSports Southwest channel on Dish Network. That's one positive to living in Texas, I guess.
  7. Ugh, Jason Marquis and possibly Ted Lilly pitching in Arlington does not sound like a fun option. Hopefully with it being September, the humidity that causes the ball to coast out of that park will have died down some. From what I read, we would most likely get Z, Dempster, and Marquis in a 3 game series. And for the record, the humidity is not very high here. Nothing like Chicago or Houston. My bad, I just assumed that the humidity was why the ball always flew at Arlington. What is it then wind currents? Crappy pitching.

  9. There are rumors that they will play tomorrow and Monday in Arlington now that the Dallas/Ft. Worth weather looks clear for the next few days. The Rangers would have to move their next series back a day, but word is that they are willing to do it to accomodate MLB. Truth be told, the Cubs-Astros games would probably draw better than a Rangers game. I have a friend that works in the Rangers ticket office. He hasn't heard anything yet, but I should know something right away if he does hear any updates. This move would make my old man and me very happy.
  10. braves angels yanks giants rangers I don't think that the Yankees or Rangers have any starting pitching they could afford to trade away. Both would seem to more be in market for pitching help in the offseason than a one dimensional power hitter. I don't see how the Rangers can be included in that group. They are desparate for pitching.
  11. Woo isn't that bad. You people need to lighten up. As a goof, me and a buddy got our picture taken with him after the big Rockies comeback in May. He saw us a little later at a restaurant just down the street and he came and sat down at our table. We talked Cubs for about 30-45 minutes or so. He never asked us for anything and was very respectful. He actually has quite an extensive knowledge of Cub history.
  12. The great Colorado comeback. It was my first game back at Wrigley in 17+ years.
  13. Latest blog entry title.
  14. http://www.peeyourpantsforthebrewers.com/ Who here is ready to make their pledge?
  15. Cause Soriano is a good hitter. Agree, Soriano is actually showing quite a bit more patience than Lee, lately. Over the last 10 games, Soriano has walked 8 times, Lee 4 Derrek's propensity to swing at the first pitch with a pitcher who just walked 2 batters is extremely frustrating. That drives me soapdropping insane.
  16. actually I think that is an overreation. I think there is a reasonable chance that Harden can get his velocity back. Even if he doesn't, he can still be a quality pitcher. I am very optimistic of the Cub's chances in the play-offs. LOL at this guy taking the above post seriously I am actually laughing at you for not appreciating MY sarcasm. I make a post that Harden's velocity is obviously down for 2 straight games, and suddenly I am proclaiming doom and gloom. I am the last guy to do that. I am the eternal optimist. Welcome to NSBB... I actually was serious. I'm posting from the ledge of the Sears Tower right now. I can't bear to see another Cub loss. Hold on, Harry. I'm coming. Get ready to sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" one more time.
  17. ZOMG! WE'RE DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!
  18. yes it does... Magic number can go down if your team wins or the current 2nd place team in the division (or WC leader) loses. Our magic # is 12 for the division. As of now that means the Cubs needs to win and the Brewers need to lose a combined 12 games. That's it, very simple. Shouldn't that be 11 since the Brewers lost while the Cubs won?
  19. I think this may be my new signature. :rotfl:
  20. Thats a bit of a safe bet :) I try to only bet the sure things. :)
  21. I guarantee that Lee will not GIDP here.
  22. That idea has never ever been discussed here. Ever. You are the first to think of this. No, really.
  23. Oh god... the feeling that gives me in my stomach is not plesant. Wood will not pitch the 8th. I'd bet it will be Marmol.
  24. Can we intentionally walk Poo Holes in the 8th please?
