Nothing wrong with speculating based on performance up to now as long as it's with the recognition that it's subject to change. It's just a fun exercise; it's not like Lou is going to set the post-season rotation based on premature speculation by fans on a message board.Exactly.
IF the Cubs make the playoffs, who would you drop from the rotation assuming all 5 starters are healthy? Would you consider moving Dempster back into the closer role and go with Z, Lilly, Harden, and Wells as your 4 starters?
That's bad. +1 I am torn on the Raley signing. I think it is great for the Cubs, but I wouldn't have been disappointed to see him stay in school another year. I am a Texas A&M alumnus and he will be missed in College Station. Hopefully he will progress through the system and I can see him pitch at Wrigley in the not too distant future.
I went over to Reds Zone's Game Threads forum, but the place was dead. Yeah, they've pretty much packed it in. Their game threads a couple of weeks ago were much much more lively. I feel bad for them and their apathy a bit, but then I remember that we're the Cubs and they won a championship in 1990. Maybe they are all undergoing Tommy John surgery tonight.
