  1. Chris Myers is awesome so I’d be cool with him for say maybe 6 games or so. Glanville I like but he’s been a bit awkward in the booth so I’d say maybe a few games with him. The rest will probably be a nightmare. ETA: Dear God I just noticed Lou Piniella. Kill me now.
  2. Yeah, but he’s a shill too, to be fair. I don’t get the shill vibe from him or his site. He’s just kinda dumb and a fun loving fanboy. It doesn’t help that he surrounds himself by as dumb or dumber writers other than Cubs Prospect guy (Bryan Smith I think). Part of me thinks that’s by design so he appears smarter if he has idiots around him. Eh. It’s a harmless site that is pretty fair imo. Bryan is amazing with the prospects side and Brett certainly understands (probably more than me) advanced metrics and value of players. He’s also been outspoken (to a degree) about the cubs ownership. He certainly deals with and tolerates an entire group of idiots who follow him/BN. But, he’s running a site for money and I feel like he/BN is simply placating a bit for the sake of a paycheck and I can’t fault him or anyone for that. In short, I feel like the content is smart enough and fair enough to follow while also knowing they are “dumbing things down” and not willing to go all out with transparency if that meant alienating their market completely to the point it hurts the bottom line. I’m ok with it - it’s one of those things that you take it for what it is.
  3. Kyle thinks everyone peaks at age 23 because that’s how old he was the last time he got laid
  4. So that means we're currently, what, 800K below the projections? YESSSSS This is almost excited as WS game 7!
  5. David, add Back2Banks to his list of usernames now.
  6. Cubs wouldn’t have the money to pay Eloy this year anyway so unsure why we are even talking about this tbh
  7. I think they’ll beat OSU, too, fwiw
  8. I mean Dabo and his “aww shucks we’re just lil Ole Clemson” schtick is super annoying but they’re the defending national champs and on paper are as good or better than they were last year. It’s not really his fault the ACC is so horrible this year. He’s annoying but I understand why it’s prob frustrating. Plus I’m sure he’s doing this “us against the world”/disrespect act in part to motivate his team. It’s probably smart and surely doesn’t hurt. But again I want to emphasize he’s annoying as hell.
  9. Please stop. Thanks, Everyone
  10. next time knock off the rhetorical bullshift and just say it’s been since 1996
  11. Hawk has a face like Bo Ryan or Rick Pitino and you just automatically know and understand what an horsefeathers that person is in all walks of life
  12. Dabo is annoying as hell with his bitching but this train of thought (not specifically you) is probably why. I would probably be the same tbh. Clemson had one close call with UNC but otherwise (every game since) embarrassed everyone that played them. They haven't lost a game since 2017. Last year they destroyed Alabama to win the National Championship and this year they are "statistically" better than last year if you look at the metrics and believe them. Yes, they haven't had a hard schedule because the ACC is equivalent to the NFC East but that doesn't mean they aren't still a super talented and amazing team. Ugh, I really don't like Clemson or Dabo and now I feel like I need a shower...
  13. I lived there for a couple of years and I can promise you it is absolutely not. did da bum take you house there and make you move?
  14. Yeah, Brett's having a mini meltdown on Twitter over this and I don't get it. Bundy when he threw 95 had promise and untapped potential. Bundy now that he throws 91-92 is just a dude. If we ended up with him I would have been fine with it, but he's not very different from other mediocre options like Julio Teheran or Gio Gonzalez. That's a guy you settle for in January not one you proactively acquire the first week of December. Brett also has a hard-on for Billy Hamilton, so his player evaluation leaves something to be desired Come on. He’s stated every time he mentions Hamilton that he would be a late inning defense replacement (especially if they did something like move Heyward to center) and pinch runner. That’s it. A role in which he would be perfect for as he’s an excellent defender and obviously a threat on the base paths. He’s never opined for him as a starter or even a typical reserve.
  15. Have you ever considered officially changing your name to “Devils Advocate”
  16. What is wrong with you? *Googles Myles Garrett college* Oh. Nevermind. Nowhere did I defend his actions last night. If he truly choked another player then that’s unacceptable as well. If he jammed another player’s helmet to the ground after a play then I’ll yawn at that. I’d wager 90+% of NFL lineman have done that at some point. no you're just defending him as a person in a manner in which you act like you know him personally. it's silly. we don't know any of these assholes or ultimately what kind of people they truly are.
  17. What is wrong with you? *Googles Myles Garrett college* Oh. Nevermind.
  18. He’s already been fined twice this year by the NFL for hits to the QB? I would imagine and hope swinging a helmet at someone’s head would be out of character for just about anybody. But the fact of the matter is he has shown the propensity for going too far with QB hits already.
  19. I simply can’t move past the Random Capitalization
  20. I know it’s not new to many (any?) on here but these 21 minutes are amazing. I typically cry a couple times. More than once I’ve had a bad day and turned to it.
  21. It sucks he’s out of options next year. Don’t think you can go in to next year with him as the planned 5th starter but maybe they do and save the money there (and assume you can have something shake out between him, Adbert, Chatwood, Graveman, Rea) to spend elsewhere. Yeah, regardless how this game shakes out I think he’s shown enough to not let loose. There’s enough there for the the value of bringing him back. They have five better starters next year? Great. Bury him in the pen. But I like one of him or Chatwood (hell, maybe both) to be more than adequate as #5. There’s also a reason I bury my baseball thoughts in game threads and not the roster 2020 thread. I don’t really know horsefeathers.
  22. I’m bately watching (obviously) but kemp took Heywards place and Almora wasn’t in the original lineup posted so no clue what’s up there. Castellanos got scratched late for a groin injury so that’s why Almora is in Little late if he was going the team-worthy slump buster
  23. And Mills is probably one of our better starters at this point.
  24. Who of their best (assuming health) are they not playing? I’m genuinely asking because my uncle from Milwaukee is complaining and I looked at the lineup and said “they suck but that’s the best (aside Heyward who pretty much sucks)” Oh I’m not sure I just assumed they weren’t. I see Kemp and Almora are in there and Mills is pitching I’m bately watching (obviously) but kemp took Heywards place and Almora wasn’t in the original lineup posted so no clue what’s up there.
