    Looking forward to taking the 30 min drive to watch MB play when they come to eastern NC this year. My son is now 4 and it’s time we watched a live baseball game together. Plus, it hopefully will help his apparent inability to identify sports. He knows pretty much all letters and can count to 50. Yet - inexplicably - routinely calls baseball football. Football basketball. Lord help me with golf. It’s gotten to the point that when he asks what I want to watch on TV I just say “sports” because then I know he will understand that I’m watching one of the above. He dropped a soccer reference on me the other day which I assume he got from school (I don’t watch soccer) so that only further muddies the situation.

    I find it shocking that MLB would blatantly turn a blind eye on a scandal happening within the league... But, just like steroids, I don’t think this is actually a loss for MLB in general. At least in regards to attention. I know NFL is over (until the draft) and NBA kind of treads water until the playoffs (to a degree), but I cannot recall a time in which baseball has gotten this much national attention in some time. Especially the offseason. It’s not the worst thing for the league as a whole to have a - now verified (especially with their horrible PR and overall reaction from HOU) - villain. It certainly worked for the NFL and the Patriots with spygate and deflategate, etc. It gives people a reason to pull against a team which gives people motive to pay attention. I know, personally, I’ll be curious about how the Astros start out, how they are reacting to the backlash, and so forth. I can’t say otherwise I’d give a damn at all about following their story in 2020. How long that lasts is another story but that’s view at the moment.

    my biggest takeaway form the great board collapse of 2020 is that if you want to give a post a heart, you had better go ahead and do it. you never know if you will have that opportunity again.

    At 40(+) he’s not a utility player, obviously. He’s a bat you’re trying to hide in the easiest defensive positions. I think that was kind of SSR’s point. Which begs the question “why even bring this up at all”?

    I’ve probably visited this board every day (at least once) for the past dozen or so years. It’s part of my daily routine. As much as I love getting a jab in when you once again over-hype your Ole Miss crush I wouldn’t even want to risk you being banned. Much less myself.

    I’m not opposed to this at all. But, I haven’t even heard a whisper about him and so I kind of just imagine he’s splitting his time with his kids and then flying down to Costa Rica to hang with Toby or something.
