Total steal in my opinion. There was literally zero reason for the Padres to NOT do this. Simply disgusting the Cubs couldn’t do the same for some of our stars bc PTR is so broke.

Damn man, ESPN is horsefeathering up. He'll do just fine on whatever other venue he cares to show up at. I'm going to guess Peacock after the Rich Eisen show.

obviously jordan was the biggest, but len leaving has bummed me out in a unique way. he had become such a comforting voice to me. losing him feels like more than just baseball loss. i know it's stupid. yeah, i was pretty shocked and initially very bummed about it. i'll take len at his word that this is a fulfillment of a long time dream for him. as long as it's not freaking chris myers, i'm ok with it. i'm guessing it'll be randazzo. of the names we've heard, he seems most likely/realistic, and he'd be fine. this is now where i'm at. I was really bummed (and shocked, of course) at first. But, if they hire a decent (or dare I say good?) replacement and it's not someone like Myers then I'll be fine. Still sucks but maybe the new guy will be likeable and I feel like JD can vibe with a number of personalities. I just really don't want them to horsefeathers up this hire because I've got my doubts the team will be all that special in 2021. ETA: and if the PBP is a likeable person good at his job and JD likes him and keeps a good dynamic that can go a long way in a 3 hour long ballgame for a team that clearly isn't going go out of their way to spend any money on the actual product. i'll take my small victories where and when I can.

The Cubs lost yesterday. And their bats have been significantly cooled down lately. But tonight they have the one hard ass who can put this team on his back and put a stop to this nonsense. And he will make the Tigers batters look.. In all actuality, I'm putting up a strong front but... It's time somebody steps up and SAVES this season. I can be that guy.

ECU's football team is now paused/shut down indefinitely after 10 players reported positive. To the point of some of the earlier conversation about Football coaches being neanderthals, NC State's coach said he was more worried about hamstring pulls and heat exhaustion than he was about COVID. He said this publicly during an on-air interview. These schools are doing this for money (and my job depends on said money), but don't think it's about the player (or student population in general) safety. It's always, always, always about money.
