Miller's already on the 60-day DL, and his roster spot taken by another guy. Dumping him doesn't open a spot. Oh ok, thanks.

Wow...this organization really hates Murton I guess. :shock: I'm thinking they want someone who can play first while lee is out. Now if they keep him and play in in RF after Lee gets back, then your guess is as good as mine.

Grienke is enticing because of his SP potential. He's basically the only reliever I would consider adding because of his potential.

It is in my opinion. I think Gallagher is going to be really solid and I'd rather hang on to him. That said, take out Soto or Murton from your deal and I wouldn't be too upset. -
What did that guy do to deserve this treatment? OK, he's overweight, we get it. It just seems immature in my opinion. I used to be really overweight until I lost 75 pounds my senior year of HS. People are free to say and think what they want, but to me it just makes you seem insecure.

Don't get me wrong, 31 AB's is definitely not a large sample size. But the fact of the matter was that at the time he looked absolutely lost at the plate, with no discipline. I think the cubs saw this as a red flag and sent him back down to work on his stroke and patience. It seems like he has done just that and I would like to see him get another shot. I think he will soon because I think izturis is as good as gone.

Jesus, I wish people would stop making this ridiculous arguement. Winning and playing young guys are not mutually exclusive. No, they are not - you're right. However, when those young guys with so much upside do NOT produce when given opportunities they are. Cedeno was NOT given an opportunity this year. Well, definitely not a prolonged opportunity, but he looked completely over matched in his 31AB's, only getting 3 hits.

well, if he's this terrible then lou will bench him. He has shown little patience in players that aren't preforming. Another week or two and if nothing improves then we could see soto back. If nothing else he could be a good mentor to soto.

Yeah, he just never really seemed comfortable back there last night and thus played bad. Hopefully he'll turn it around and be a solid player all around for the remainder of the year. Of course that could just be the eternal optimist in me....
