  1. 1.5/1 K/BB ratio in the bigs with seasons as poor as sub 1 and as good as this year's 2.6. Seems like a quintessential inconsistent reliever. Granted it is AAA, but in 2005 he pitched 150 innings, walking 35 and striking out 113. Hopefully his command of the strikezone comes back to stay.
  2. Billy Beane likes our farm system a lot more than I thought he would
  3. hahahaha \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ I'm so [expletive] happy! And it's annnounced just before C.C. is set to make his big debut with the Brew Crew! I wonder what their board is saying right now?
  4. they were saying on the score this morning that edmonds had an mri on his foot done yesterday. they didn't expect him to miss any playing time, but he'll probably sit out a couple more games than he otherwise would because his plantar fasciitis is acting up So they did or didn't think he would be out tonight? I'd hate it if he couldn't go, thats the best lineup possible with Soriano out.
  5. 11-1 win for the cardinals... Well considering they made Sean Marshall look like Cole Hamels, I'd have to imagine Cole Hamels will look like Sandy Koufax
  6. The Brewers would have to have given up a ton to get him. Why else would the Indians trade him this early? His value could only go up closer to the deadline, when teams get desperate.
  7. Sure, that's easy, I know that stat without even looking it up: irrelevant. So there's no correlation between wildness and giving up runs? You can't walk accross the plate. Dude. Obviously when you allow baserunners, especially to lead off an inning, you are going to put yourself in a worse position to win the game. I was probably being a bigger jerk than I should have been , but what difference does it make what his record is when he hits/walks the leadoff guy? He's in worse shape to convert the save, thats all that really needs to be said. I was still irked about the game and bringing up another arbitrary statistic such as that just adds to the doom and gloom around here. It's not like it's some magical act that causes Woody to break down into tears on the mound.

  9. 162 games. Woody is going to blow some saves, everyone does. And it was definitely a tough pill to swallow, but it's certainly not the end of the world. Bottom line is that the cubs still have the best record in the NL and a win tomorrow would take 2 of 3 on the road vs. the second place team (and back to a fairly comfortable 3.5 gm lead). I was as pissed off as anybody right after it happened, but you can't let that feeling linger. I guarantee the cubs players don't, they're too good of a team.
  10. I was about to ask this as well. From the sound of Pat, was he just throwing breaking balls? Did he throw a fastball all inning?
  11. great job cotts. looks like marmol will pitch next inning...
  12. Not that I'm terribly worried about them...but, \:D/
  13. 88 thru five for Lincecum, hopefully he only has one more inning left.
  14. time to step the drinking up... I'll check back in an hour to see how much worse it is
  15. :-k Dunn to Cobs? :) As much as I'd love Dunn, I doubt that will happen with our current OF configuaration. And after the lead-off walk, Gallagher settles down nicely. Yea I was obviously kidding around, maybe we should ask reds44 ;) I'm guessing Harang to the Cubs for Colvin, Veal and Marshall. I would be ecstatic if that was the case
  16. Nice work Sean! How many pitches was that, it sure seemed quick after that walk.
  17. :-k Dunn to Cobs? :) My money is on Toronto... :pig:
  18. I'm hoping Perry was preaching the "Kazmir" approach to the guys.
