  1. he was covered in the magical STL pixie dust that turns anyone, even the sh##@iest players into studs while wearing the Uniform. It's quite remarkable. I need some of that pixie dust. I hate them. I should have punched LaRussa out. LaRussa flipped off my brother back in '92. What'd your brother do?
  2. So what's the over/under on how long Dusty will ride this horse tonight? 130?
  3. http://www.falsecognate.org/2006/07/corey_hart_mlb.jpg
  4. How the hell did Braun get 3.8 million votes?
  5. But edmonds is a gold glover! He can patrol CF until he walks like a retired lineman if he wants to.
  6. I guess it's "80's retro week" now  Joke of a channel. No way man! It's TV you CAN'T ignore! It's the tops!
  7. Did Theriot bang her or something? sorry, blooped a single while typing and so I just fused the two.
  8. Sarah Wood is not a bad looking lady nice job Theriot
  9. Yes you're crazy for wishing we gave up more than we did. Doesn't Cust have the DH spot locked down for them anyway?
  10. haha, dusty's reds hacking away! nice play aram!
  11. No Jim, Rich Harden has never been hurt at all. He did say that the Cubs doctors had access to the A's doctors and all of Harden's records. I don't know if that should inspire confidence or not. We all remember our doctors not finding anything wrong with Prior. All they can really do is look for structural damage. I'm fairly sure they are capable of that. It's going to be a gamble any way you look at it, but it's definitely a great gamble.
  12. I'm not sure if that's what he said or just that they had access to the A's doctors and Harden's medical records. That's what I assumed, but he kinda made it seem like they actually examined him. Oh well, it's good news either way.
  13. Did Hendry just say that the Cubs' doctors already examined Harden?
  14. 20. thanks, splitting time between this thread and catching up in the Harden thread
  15. seemed like a long inning, how many pitches was that?
  16. nice catch! though Pie probably makes that without leaving his feet, but still....
  17. i'm not surprised. murton can give you league-average offense at a cheap price in the corner outfield, and patterson is a major-league ready player who will give you good offense from 2B if you're willing to accept some defensive deficiencies. gallagher is a potential #3/4 guy who will eat a lot of innings at a cheap price. there aren't any real high-ceiling players here, but there are a bunch of guys who can give solid performances at low dollar figure - if you have enough of those, you can bring in a couple of big-dollar, big-production guys to supplement the lineup or rotation. Yeah, I can definitely see the value he would place in those guys. Maybe I'm more surprised that this deal was worked out with no real "high" ceiling players coming back to the A's (possibly Gallagher). From most of the speculation I read, I thought it would take at least someone like Hill or Pie to get the conversation started.
