  1. Better still, an O.J. Simpson. With a Harding he'd eventually be able to come back. i dont think we should be seriously talking about murdering bob howry
  2. If only anything in this post was actually true. (Automatic bid in 2005. West Virginia and their non-con of Marshall, E. Washington, E. Carolina and Miss. State were the only other eligible team in 2006. I should sig this.) I know it's not completly true but with my Michigan ties I like to knock ND :-). the part about them being insignificant was true, at least
  3. it's possible that you don't like fontenot because you're completely negative about everything, but you also could've fallen into the trap that so many people on this board fell into - they see a little white guy who's been in the minors for a while and think "there's no way this guy can play" or "lolololol grit." his minor league line of .291/.366/.437/.803 suggests the ability to get on base and provide a little pop. his median pecota projection for this year was .278/.353/.424/.777 - not great for a regular starter, but plenty good for a spot starter who can play either middle infield position. he's been better than expected, but even at his expected level of production, he would've been a useful part of the team. and please everyone, let's start to understand that bat speed has just as much to do with power as size does. hanley ramirez is another good example of this. Hanley is listed at 6'3" 195 lbs. which is not big at all. I'm 6'3" and 170 and skinny as a rail. 25 pounds is a pretty big difference
  4. damn, beaten
  5. It seems (im probably totally wrong) that pitchers have been Ryno-ing Fuku lately and just laying a first pitch fastball down the middle because they know he'll take it. I know I saw it once today and it seems like I've seen it lately. He probably wanted to jump on one and got fooled.
  6. please tell me that giant mongoloid lefty is staying in the game... got a feeling Lee and Rammy will get to him.
  7. YAH TRICK YAH Adrian Peterson is god http://youtube.com/watch?v=ctV_OKxuQIw
  8. For the record, the Tulsa World has ranked Josh Freeman as the 10th best QB in the Big 12.
  9. so cuban takes over, bumps our payroll to 200 million and signs cc sabathia and Yu Darvish Sabathia, Zambrano, Harden, Darvish, Itdoesntmatter
  10. how can you argue with this evidence ARam's EqA the past four years, by the way: .307, .302, .292, .294 i'm just saying, either braun is a better hitter than ARam, or you're assuming that his minor league and major league performances are both flukes, and his PECOTA projections are too high. i think he probably is too, but it's not so clear cut that i'd be comfortable acting really pompous about it while ramirez is in a huge slump and braun is in the streak of his life
  11. how can you argue with this evidence
  12. Thank god this didn't clutter up the game thread
  13. Chicubsfan takes TE Antonio Gates and RB Matt Forte
  14. It would be one thing if we had a guy worth plugging in to right field. If Edmonds ever needs replaced, I'd rather just platoon Pie and Johnson No, but it would be easier to go get a big corner outfielder bat than it would to get a centerfielder. If we were making a move for a corner guy, I'm sure it would be considered and I'd be all for it, but right now there's really not a point yeah, but I know that Manny and Holliday are both out there to be had. Why not really go for it? I'd love to. I have my doubts that the Red Sox are doing anything other than dealing with the Manny situation the same way that they always do, and that we have enough to get Holliday, though.

  20. I expected the Brownlie comparison, but I didn't expect that comparision to be followed with an "I love this pick."
