  1. This has the look of a game where you pull away in the 2nd half. I underestimated KU; we're better than I thought. But I think there's just too a big a talent/speed disparity right now. I'm not saying we don't have a shot at it. But our margin for error is small. i'm still laughing at brian jackson just falling over on that long pass play bradford has 313 yards passing in the first half, i think we will win this one
  2. lol
  3. they ruled that an INT? sweet
  4. manuel johnson got his arm ripped off and our kickers still suck
  5. People in this thread who said Peavy was as good or better than Santana: Meph, Rob People in this thread who expressed reservations about trading for Peavy, and/or disagreed with Meph/Rob's characterization of him: I don't want to go back and count, it's over half a dozen. You're embarrassing yourself with this over-the-top "what is wrong with everyone why does everyone think this thing that is clearly wrong and I must bombastically correct you for the error of your ways" schtick. You're exaggerating. Over half a dozen? I think not. That is over the top. You may call it bombastic posting, but if you feel strongly about a subject I don't see a reason to put a little verve into it, instead of everyone trying to out Spock/robot each other. Plus, in order to get embarrassed I would have to care about the reputation of this little internet persona, which I don't. I basically get ganged up on about petty nonsense in nearly every thread I post in, oh no, I'm not proclaiming Jay Jackson is Tim Lincecum just yet, I'm such a negative guy, everybody pile on. That's part of what I don't like about these boards, what starts as a one-on-one disagreement turns into 7 people taking cheap shots at you personally instead of your argument. I just wish there was less damn posturing. Uh-oh, somebody thinks the fact that Josh Hamilton recovered from drug addiction does not make him a better baseball player than if he never took drugs in the first place! Better send out 10 guys with "internet tough guy" attitudes to deal with the problem. i love the way you just make up these "prevailing board attitudes" on completely random topics. i can't decide if you're just a really bad poster with a need to be persecuted or perhaps the greatest troll in nsbb history You're kind of proving his point right there. Just sayin... people "pile on him" because he attributes statements to people incorrectly and because he's wrong quite often. that's not piling on, that's called correcting.

  7. dawson is not a hall of famer, are you people crazy 354th in career ops+ from a position you should be getting more than that at oh damn, we gotta put paul oneill and his 120 ops+ in now
  8. just kidding
  9. i got my refund a week ago
  10. not that this applies to this trade really, but one year i was in a fantasy baseball league with the guys on my floor midway through the season, me and one other team were head and shoulders above the pack. We were either first or second in almost every category, though i had a decent lead on him. all of a sudden he starts catching up, and i realize it's because he's flat out raping people in trades. his name was alex, so i renamed my team "DONT TRADE WITH ALEX", everyone listened to me and i ended up winning.
  11. andrew cashner didn't throw a single strike after he was drafted and he's in our top 5, sweet
  12. where are the escape from l.a. jokes
  13. especially since it won't include hamilton or bradley. (Kinsler was equal in each park)
  14. you guys are going to have to realize that badnews is our resident crappy sports columnist *takes hot button baseball issue* *takes negative stance* *makes up a lot of stuff, pretends everyone believes the opposite* *leaves for a week* *does it again*
  15. i feel like this is "overboard" and i'm kurt russel and everyone else is goldie hawn and i'm like let's do it
  16. do you realize what his 139 ops+ in his home park means? just kidding, it's obvious that you don't. *makes 6 posts in a row in 5 minute span*
  17. are you seriously this clueless? lol
  18. do you really think they're going to release the equations for their own stat? if you don't understand it, that's your problem. i'm not saying that it's the end all be all stat, i'm saying that if you're in the top 5 of your own league in the stat, only a fool would have a problem with you being in the top 10 mvp voting
  19. hand picking a single stat? i think you're kind of embarrassing yourself. you're basing your whole opinion of him off of home/road splits and ignoring every other metric ... someone in this conversation is biased. HINT: ITS NOT ME he may have been the third best hitter on his own team, but he had 120 more ABs (and played a more valuable position) than Ian Kinsler and he had 200 more at bats (and played an actual position instead of DH) than milton bradley ... hence, more valuable. you're honestly in a conversation that's apparently over your head.
  20. lol well i guess that settles it the numbers didn't add up to your preconceptions, so it's the numbers fault!
  21. vorp is park adjusted and he still finished no. 5 in the al
  22. i think you're going over the top in how you imagine other people perceive josh hamilton. i expect it from badnews because that's all he does.
  23. so what? he still produced enough to be counted as one of the 10 most valuable players in the league. doesn't matter if it was in arlington or some little league park.
  24. btw, josh hamilton was no. 5 in the AL in VORP i can't even imagine how a guy who was top 5 in the entire league in VORP could sneak into a few MVP ballots. suck it
  25. Not one game at Arlington....but a bunch at GAB which was the 7th best hitters park in 2007. Home 2007- 312/.372/.617 Road 2007- .274/.365/.497 Seriously. If Josh Hamtiton played for the Angels this year he'd probably be an .850 OPS guy Arlington turned Milton Bradley into a 1.000 OPS guy this season. It turned Malron Byrdi nto an .842 OPS guy. So yeah, when you consider that a .901 OPS isn't even that special to begin with, I don't think Hamilton should be anywhere near the top of the MVP voting. He used to do drugs and stuff though....so let's just give it to him. Yeah, a .901 OPS is nothing special. Just an easy top 20-25 player in the league. And 16th best this year. Nothing special though. Yea? I don't get what you're saying. We're talking aobut MVP...the most valuable player in the league.....not a "top 20-25 player". I never said a .901 OPS isn't good. It's good and makes you one of the top hitters in the game....but producing at the level that is matched by SEVERAL players every year......so is that "special"? You'll have to explain to me how that is special. I guess I'm weird for thinking that the MVP should go to somebody who was better than "top 20-25 player" in the league. Reading comprehension > you because he's a centerfielder and not a corner if/of?
